Stopped in to Copper Brewing last minute on our vacation to Kelowna, just to try a few local beers. We came hungry but figured that we would get a little buzz and then find somewhere for lunch. Got there and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing menu.
Hunter served us, he was quick to come over to our table - super friendly. There had to be 30 beers on tap, so we gave him the servers nightmare of saying "surprise me" on our flights. He asked a few easy questions to gauge our tastes and came back with amazing picks. That, to me, is amazing service. Throughout our visit he was very attentive without hovering too, fantastic.
The smash burger (I had 'Ze German' and chicken sandwich were both huge, juicy and absolutely delicious. Portions, including fries, were generous. The toppings on these guys are super well thought out, unique, and it really is foodie food and not just another boring generic cheese burger.
We enjoyed Copper Brewing so much that we ended up staying and trying at least 3/4 of the tap beers. The Lemon Sorbet beer is truely unique and I've never had anything even remotely similar - it is devine. There was nothing on the beer menu I wouldn't gladly enjoy again (including some great IPAs I was urged to try despite normally not liking them). We headed home with a few hundred dollars worth of offsales including the black current sour, hefe and blonde while we eagerly wait for distribution to grow closer to where we live.
This place really checked all the boxes for us, we we're advised that the breakfast brunch restaurant next door ("Porter's") was under the same ownership and we extended our visit an extra night just so we could try it the next morning. I'll be setting my GPS directly to Copper Brewing on my next...
Read moreI've been to Copper Brewing and Porters on a few occasions and generally enjoy the food and beer. I will say that I do find a couple of the servers to be rather unfriendly. However I am commenting here about a particular experience I had. Recently, I had a $23 hotdog at your establishment. I ordered the hotdog because I wanted to try it, but it was lunch for me so I asked the server if I could just have the hotdog with no side. I also asked for extra toppings. When the hotdog came it had a ridiculous amount of crispy onions, but no extra of the other toppings. In general the hotdog was good, but not good enough to have again. But the real kicker was that I was charged $23 for this hotdog, $19 for the hotdog + $4 for the extra toppings. Now I am more than happy to pay for extra toppings, but when you don't have the side that just seems crazy. As well when I originally asked the server if I could order just the hotdog, the way she responded it sounded as if hotdog only was an option. When I asked the server about this she seemed quite confident in the price. Most restaurants would not charge for extra toppings when you don't have the side. Needless to say I haven't been back since. And I will note here that recently I had the happy hour hotdog at Trainstation, it was just $8 and ten...
Read moreChecked out the menu online and the variety out of many other breweries seemed pretty decent. Online says kitchen open 12-9. Bit deceiving as they have a modified lunch menu that ends at "2:30" due to the kitchen shutting down until "3".
Group of 6 from out of town arrived approx 215 on a Sunday. We required a patio as we had a rescue pup with us. I am glad we were on the patio as inside did not have an enjoyable Sour smell - haven't experience the sour before in a brewery.
We browsed the menu given to us and it appeared there wasn't a lot of options. I confirmed that we couldn't order anything off of the menu given. It was 2:27 when we were advised the kitchen procedures.
We put our order in and got our food after 3....
FYI - you can't even order fries or poutine until the kitchen does the mid day break which I guess is 2:30-3.
Waitress was kind enough. Advised us of a couple vegetation options as we had multiple people that couldn't eat most of the given "lunch" menu.
Anyways. Ordered the porter dog and the size is great. Flavor of the dog itself was good. Didn't fully enjoy the toppings as I assumed the pickles would have been dill but they are not. Salad was good.
Beer was good for everyone that had it.
Overall mixed feelings between the group on food...
