I can’t believe some of negative reviews on here because we had such an opposite experience in this restaurant!
We are from out of town visiting a friend in the area. We are obsessed with Hakka Chinese food and usually have a “go to” place that we have been going to for many years in Brampton as we are very particular with Hakka food. Since we were visiting a friend for their birthday in the area, we decided to treat her with Hakka Chinese food for dinner and chose to try this place. I have to say hands-down in Canada this is THE BEST Hakka Chinese food I have ever had!!! I’m also always very weary about trying fish in Indian style restaurants. I tried their phuket fish and it was beyond this world. They DO NOT USE MSG in their food. I also have a child with nut allergy and the staff confirmed that there weren’t any particular nuts in concern in our food and it seemed like we were good and I appreciate the staff accommodating us for allergy needs as well.
I had 3 children with me who are under 5 yrs and anyone with children knows that it is hard to control them in a restaurant environment. I have to say the restaurant offers a family friendly environment, with no judgment. We got there for 7pm dinner time and no one judged us for having 3 kids being loud and occasionally leaving their seats. You can see from the picture our table was chaotic, nevertheless we enjoyed every bit of the food and also got takeout. Service was amazing. Chef is originally from Hakka. We didn’t wait too long for food to arrive. Amazing Hakka noodles, mild enough for children. Delicious chilli chicken.. THE BEST!!
100% recommend this place for food, service and clean and well maintained environment. I will however recommend adding a change table in the bathroom for babies would be...
Read moreWe recently dined at Hakka Chow at Kitchener location, and it was an exceptional experience! The ambiance was welcoming and cozy, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family.
The menu offered a delightful range of Hakka dishes that truly captured the essence of this unique style of Chinese cuisine, which perfectly combines chinese food with Indian flavors and spices. We started with the "Veg Spring Rolls," which were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. Then we tried "Salt and Pepper Prawn", and it was nothing short of spectacular! The prawns were cooked to perfection—juicy and tender, with just the right amount of snap. The seasoning was a beautiful blend of black pepper and spices, giving it a delightful kick without overpowering the natural sweetness of the prawns. I must say it was the best of all the dishes. For the main course, I opted for the Chili Chicken (dry) and mixed (chicken, egg, and shrimp) Fried Rice. The chicken was tender and had just the right amount of spice, while the fried rice was fluffy and aromatic. However, I found the portion sizes were to be on the smaller side.
The service was impeccable; our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. The food was served promptly, and everything was fresh and delicious.
Not just the food, but I was also impressed by the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The tables were spotless, the floors were well-maintained, and the entire space felt inviting and hygienic.
Overall, Hakka Chow is a must-visit for anyone craving Hakka style Indo-Chinese cuisine. We can't wait to return and try...
Read moreWe were genuinely excited for Hakka Chow Kitchener’s July 12th Grand Deal, especially the Vegetarian Fried Rice Noodles with Cauliflower Manchurian and Chili Chicken Combo. With four generations of our family living in the area, we were planning to celebrate together by ordering 10+ meals.
We followed all instructions to pre-register through the links they provided, yet nowhere on the ad or form did it state there would be a 5:00 p.m. cutoff, or that only one combo per registration would be honored. We weren't even offered a rain check, waitlist, or bulk purchase option despite offering to pick up close to closing at 9:00–9:30 p.m.
If you're going to promote something "grand," honor it throughout the day, not until you feel overwhelmed or short on ingredients. Turning away loyal, local customers who've lived in the area for decades, not just passing students or transient visitors, shows poor foresight. The Mississauga-linked socials, generic setup, and cafeteria-style furniture tell me this is just another copy-paste chain trying to cash in on hype without delivering substance or respect.
This isn't just about missing out on a deal, it’s about misleading ads, lack of transparency, and poor service recovery. Every local here has seen dozens of restaurants come and go. We support the ones that support us.
If you're in it for the long haul, treat your customers like they matter, especially the ones bringing entire families to support your business. You’re not the only Indo-Chinese fusion place in town, and people remember how you made them feel more than how much you discounted...
