Wanted to try some Dosas and had heard good things about this place so went to try it out. We ordered Medu Vada, you get 6 small vadas and a sambar and chutney. The vada seemed to lack salt and so did the sambar. The sambar that came with the vada didn't have any vegetables in it and tasted diluted. We also ordered chicken 65 as a starter and it was decent. We ordered Mysore Masala Dosa and Podi Masala Dosa. The Dosas were great and definitely the highlight of the visit. The Dosas by itself were very tasty and crispy enough. The masala was good too. The sambar was different than the one that came with the vada. It was sweeter and seemed to lack salt too. The chutneys were good although the quantity was a lot less than expected. Overall the Dosas were the star of the place and many of the other dishes seemed to have less salt. Not a problem with the chutneys and sambars as you can add as needed but not an option with the vadas. The filter coffee seemed to be very milky as opposed to normal. Would recommend the place for Dosas but other dishes left me wanting for more. Hard to give this place another try when other places have better options. The service was good and pretty quick given how busy they were. The restaurant was busy when we visited and had to wait 15-20 mins to get a table. Ample free parking available...

Shivas is a newly opened Indian restaurant in the KW area that serves authentic food from the Southern parts of India.

We went to try the food here for Sunday dinner. The place was packed; they do have smaller seating area and we had to wait for about 15mins to get our table. The service here is quick. We tried their Medu Vadai; Chicken 65; Mysore Masala Dosa; Podi Masala Dosa & Filter Coffee.

They serve 6 medu vadai in a plate. The Vadai was hot but lacked some salt. The Chicken 65 was pretty good. And both the Dosas were crispy, fresh & very flavorful. The Mysore Masala was slightly better than the Podi Dosa. The filter coffee was okay - too milky.

But their Chutneys are really average, the red chutney they serve with the Dosa is terrible. The White coconut chutney is alright. Their Sambar isn't flavorful at all - they served sambar with Medu Vadai as well as Dosas. Both Sambar tasted different, 1 was a very thick consistency of lentils (barely any spice) and the other was thinner consistency but no flavor at all. Also, the quantity of sambar we got with the 2 dosas were very different - different size cups basically, but we didn't care too much as we didn't enjoy the taste of it anyway.

Overall, Dosas is likely the only thing I'd go back for but there are quite a few places that serve...

I don’t usually leave long reviews but had to write one after consistently receiving bad service

I have ordered vegetarian tiffin service from the restaurant for a little over 3 weeks. I pre paid for the service after confirming what time the food would be delivered (i requested it to be delivered before 1 PM since my lunch break ends at 1)

Day 1, the food was delivered at 1:30. Day2 , After I have complained about it, the food was delivered on time but I was given the wrong meal (non-veg) and they said they would replace it and was given non-veg again and i sent it back. No apology from the restaurant.

The food was delayed for the next 2 days and i requested my service to be cancelled since i went without food for 3 of the first 5 days either due to delayed delivery or wrong meal being sent.

The restaurant said they will deliver it on time after me requesting cancellation and I received food on time for 2 days.

The day after that, i received the food late and wrong meal yet again (non-veg).

The taste of the food was good, but you will lose your appetite either because of delays (not sure who would prefer their lunch cold at 2 PM but may work for them) or receiving wrong meals.

I cannot speak for the in house dining but strongly recommend against the...

I recently visited Shivas Dosa and tried a variety of items. The Mysore Malasa Dosa and Podi Malasa Dosa were both quite tasty. The sambar was good, but the chutneys were just okay—though I did enjoy the tamarind chutney. The masala dosas were crispy, but unfortunately, the masala didn’t taste good and was a bit dry, which was disappointing. The Meduvada was okay, but I expected it to be perfect, given that it’s a staple of South Indian cuisine. It didn't quite meet those expectations. One thing that stood out was their offering of filter coffee and milk tea, which I appreciated. However, as someone who is lactose intolerant, I was disappointed to find there was no black coffee or black tea available. I would suggest that they consider adding black coffee or lactose-free milk to their menu to accommodate customers with dietary restrictions. The decor was a highlight for me. I really loved the way they arranged traditional Indian music instruments like the veena, nadaswaram, and mridangam as wall decorations—it added a beautiful cultural touch to the ambiance. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, which made the experience pleasant. Overall, the food was decent
