Went to Lisboa yesterday for the first time. The food was fabulous! My husband and I shared the Piri Piri Garlic Shrimp, it was amazing. It had a delicious spice to it. For our main meal, I had grilled squid which was cooked to perfection. Not chewy or overcooked. My husband had a chorizo sandwich he said it was delicious. The food was plentiful. Neither of us could finish our meal there was so much! Had to take it home and finish it off today...so good. We bought a few different pastries to take home. Everything we bought was really very good. On to the service, our server's name was Bia, I do hope I spelled that correctly. She was fabulous! She was very intentive and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. She was very friendly and bent over backwards to make we had everything we needed. Prices were very reasonable and like I said the food was very abundant. You can tell that everyone who works there including the owners take great pride in this restaurant and in their work. Everything is handled with love and care. This will not be my only visit to the restaurant. I highly recommend Lisbon Bakery & Grill. I will be back 😊
UPDATE: My husband and I went back today for lunch. We had the quarter chicken in hot Piri Piri sauce...it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was so moist and the potatoes were delicious. The Piri Piri sauce was amazing! Had to buy a bottle. We had Bia (I did spell her name right) again today as our server. She remembered us! Despite being busy, Bia came and checked on us and the same as last time she was super friendly, attentive and always had a smile on her face. She is wonderful and one of the sweetest people I...
Read moreI dont do bad reviews, I rather go to somewhere else. however, this deserves my attention to point out my disappointment.i was at this place yesterday, May 10th. first: I dont know if the staff that served me were the owners, they were Brazilians, and the place is called a Portuguese bakery- I am addressing this based on the foods I had. If they were Brazilian, the "coxinha" chicken thighs, popular food of Brazil, was discredit from its region. If someone gave a review saying good things about this, its probably not Brazilian or never had a excellent one.
Second: I asked for a fresh coxinha. I waited probably 10 minutes or more for then to fry 2 coxinhas- which coxinha doesn't take more than 1 minute to fry. They brought 1, and the lady said they have to fry another one because that open on the process of frying.
Third: I specified that I didnt want dark, mean, over-fried, and was hard, dry and dark, and coxinhas are not small, and their coxinha are very small. I also bought those Portuguese tarts, small, dry, and tastless, I bought some from Farm boy from where I live near Toronto, and they are far the best I ever had. just go to a real Brazilian restaurant or bakery if you want coxinha, or a Portuguese bakery somewhere else. i had the worse experience ever.
Note. I threw the coxinhas away, I...
Read moreI am leaving a one star review because you can’t do less. We have been a loyal customer of Lisboa since it’s inception with its original owners who subsequently left to pursue their amazing sauces we use on a weekly basis.
Under the new ownership we have seen the quality of the food, customer service, management and overall ambiance decrease noticeably.
The sauce is never consistent. It’s either too spicy or a different colour from the last. Some staff pour on enough to make soup while others totally forget to put sauce at all. Food is almost always dried out. After spending almost $100 in food for large family gatherings we expect much higher consistency and customer service.
New staff come and go like a revolving door, which explains the lack of consistency and high quality. In business this problem is usually always associated with poor management or lack thereof. You need to do more to retain your experienced staff and those that provide a high level of customer service - after all you’re in a service industry!
It’s sad to say as a Portuguese but we will not be returning to Lisboa again after some really bad service and poor quality food. There’s just been too many mistakes with our orders and at the price you pay it’s not worth it. Time to explore K/W’s...
