Popeyes generally is a franchise with very inconsistent levels of quality that fluctuate depending on the location/branch, level of training and even the cooks. So quality can fluctuate at the same branch whether you visit in the afternoon or late at night. I'm writing this opinion having experienced at least 20 different branches both in Canada and the US. I even once worked at a popeyes branch for a few months so I experienced some of this Inconsistency first hand. At its worst this branch would get 3 stars. But at its finest times I would rate it higher than 5 stars if I could. Its one of the few branches which is at least a little more consistent in terms of quality and most of the time is on the better side. If you happen to visit during one of these good and/or even better one of those few lucky days or times, you'll get to experience popeyes the way it is truly meant to be. An experience any fried chicken enthusiast would be satisfied with. I don't even have the proper words to describe that feeling. But remember, that's when they're at their peak. I drive to this branch instead of the one next to me just in hope i could reexperience this feeling. And sometimes i do and sometimes i absolutely don't. So I hope one day you get to experience one of those good moments. And I hope I get to keep experiencing it again too. And I really hope this branch doesn't drop its quality anytime soon, because we all know we need good fried chicken now more than...
Read moreDefinitely will not be returning to this location! I decided to order the 5pc tender platter as I usually get the combo and am still hungry after. I ordered fries for both sided and then when I went to pay it was $27. I thought that the price seemed unusually high but i still paid. After checking my receipt I realized the girl charged me $4 each for both my sides adding an extra $8 to my bill. When I asked her about it she told me I ordered large sides. (I did not). I then asked for my money back and was eventually refunded in coins after paying with my card. After about 20 minutes of waiting with only one customer ahead of me I received my food. When I opened it up there were barely enough fries to call it a combo. I am quite certain I was not even given one full regular side. When I went back in I asked why she had not given me two regular sides. The girl told me she used the fry bag to measure the food which was a lie because I watched her throw some in with the tongs on top of the chicken. Her coworker then held up the bag that regular fries should go in and said that is what I had. In the picture below I had not touched my food yet and that is how much they gave me. The employees are rude and have no idea what they are doing or what a combo vs platter is. You can not tell me I have enough food for a combo much less the...
Read moreWhile the chicken is superb, the execution of orders lacks attention. On several occasions, chicken would not be available and there would be quite a wait for the order to be fulfilled. I can understand to a degree but I've rarely, in the ten+ times I've been here, experienced my order being ready shorter than seven minutes, unlike some other fast service chicken restaurants where I've had my order between three and five minutes. What irks me more is that orders placed after mine are filled before mine, for the same chicken. Yes, that does mean I would get my chicken fresher but my time is valuable as well. Their order system asks how many hot versus medium. I ask for two pieces of eight as spicy; the only button they have on their register is 1/2 and 1/2 so someone must remember that I wanted only two spicy pieces. That did work out during my last visit and I did get what I ordered, however, past visits weren't as successful. My last visit, we were told onion rings would take five minutes. Well, other orders were filled, the rings were packed, and then we had to wait another five for the fries because this restaurant doesn't properly account for the orders. I don't know if it's a lack of communication or knowledge about supply and demand but timing is not their strength. Their food has always been good; service can...
