PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU VISIT! This restaurant looks very appealing online and social media, however this is very deceiving. This Café has the potential to be a go-to spot in Kitchener but there are many flaws holding it back.
The Good- The lady running the counter was very friendly, she took the time to explain ingredients in the food and what popular options were. Unfortunately they were sold out of a lot of the things we came to try but there were still lots of options. The decor is gorgeous, this could be a very trendy spot to hang out if they could fix all the other problems
The Bad Lets start with the cleanliness - this place is disgusting! It is so dirty and gross, the floor is so full of dirt, crumbs and coffee stains. The edges of the tables are caked in dirt and stains, the bathrooms are unbearable, they are so filthy that I recommend not using them at all unless its an absolute emergency. If the whole Café is this disgusting I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. I was so worried we would end up sick after eating here. I wouldn't have stayed if I hadn't already paid for my food before using the bathroom.
The food is not great, we ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was just a Janes Chicken paddy heated up. The fries only tasted like the old oil they were cooked in. We received 2 packages of Ketchup with our fries, the packages were greasy and dirty on the outside. When I opened a package of ketchup the ketchup was brown not red, clearly not stored correctly or past its best before date.
I really hope that the owners read this message and clean up the place as this could be an amazing addition to DTK but as of right now I would NOT recommend going here and I will not be a...
Read moreThis was our second visit. The first time we had espresso and a capuccino and this time a capuccino and a cup of brewed coffee. First time ordered cinnamon rolls and they were delicious. Second time we went for scrambled eggs and croissant and a french toast with cheese. I do apologize as I am not familiar with the names. Second time there was apparently one staff only and it took longer to get served although there was us and another table. I had to ask to get our table cleaned as it was filthy from previous customers and there were even hairs. It was cleaned right away. The server was very nice, I think that because it was just one, made the service slow and not great. We also had to ask for sugar as the jar had none left. Then after we got our food, we had to ask for utensils. None of this bothered us (except for the filthy table) but I am just mentioning because maybe these comments will lead to having more than just one staff working and improve service. My second capuccino (ordered Large both visits) was smaller, unsure why. The taste: the same or maybe better but surely less amount. It was a different cup too. The food...loved the french toast. The scrambled egg croissant was nice but I would order something different next time. The place is cozy, inviting and I love the decor and the wall that has all the pink cups. They should have more exposure for sure and have been trying to gather a group of my girl friends to come here for brunch but hopefully they have more...

I had the pleasure of visiting Rose Cafe today, and I am beyond impressed! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the warmest, most inviting atmosphere. The cafe is beautifully decorated with soft, cozy accents and a fresh, floral vibe that instantly puts you at ease. It's the perfect blend of charm and comfort, with a subtle elegance that makes it feel both special and unpretentious.
The menu is simply divine! Whether you're in the mood for a rich, velvety latte, a refreshing iced tea, or something a bit more adventurous, Rose Cafe has it all. I tried their Rose Latte, and I can honestly say it was one of the best lattes I’ve ever had—smooth, aromatic, and with just the right hint of floral sweetness. For food, I highly recommend the avocado toast with a poached egg—it was perfection on a plate. The ingredients were fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor.
But what truly sets this place apart is the service. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, always happy to make recommendations or just chat about the cafe's offerings. You can tell they genuinely care about providing an exceptional experience for each guest.
If you're looking for a peaceful retreat where you can unwind, indulge in fantastic food and drinks, and enjoy top-notch service, Rose Cafe is an absolute must-visit. I can't wait to come back and explore more...
