I feel like giving it two and a half stars. We drove from Nanaimo because my son heard it was good but we were disappointed. It's not obvious how you order when you walk in. We were not greeted when we entered so we were unsure of the order process . I saw the menu was on the wall so I assumed we had to order at the counter. We went up to the counter and stood which the two women working ignored us. We realized we had to go to the very end of the counter to be acknowledged. We ordered our food and wanted to pay with a card. They appear to only have Square. My son felt obligated to tip because three tip options come up on the screen. No tip or a lower tip reflecting counter services didn't appear to be an option. We would have preferred to decide on a tip at the end of the meal. We had to wait for our food for a while. The woman cooking yelled that it would be just a few more minutes I think to us but I couldn't be sure. When our meals arrived I was surprised at the appearance. I ordered a chicken and sauce crepe. I expected the crepe to be rolled around the filling and sauce over the top. Instead it looked like a pie or a panini with everything inside the crepe. The crepe was thicker than I expected and much more crepe than filling. My chicken was bland in places and spicy in others. My son hated his food. The cook saw him picking at his food and again yelled over instead of walking to our table. My son wasn't comfortable hollering across the room that he did not...
Read morePerfect cafe for a casual meetup with friends! Excellent coffee and tasty crepes both sweet and savory, served in a small but interestingly finished new-industrial space. Mostly manual wheelchair accessible, though power chair users may find this space tight. The front door has a small lip that may make getting the door open a task, though the owner was quick to jump up and grab the door for us. We were there on a rainy sunday which made this cafe a bright and cosy place to be even though the windows were fogged up, but I can imagine this would be a really nice spot in the spring and summer with greenery outside the side door and (I think) a roll-up door. You can tell the owner takes pride in her coffee, too, which we need more of in this part...
Read moreLove love LOVE the crepery! Great food and beverages, excellent service! The weekly specials provide interesting twists and combinations I might not think of, and the staff are always so patient when I have trouble deciding.
We always make a point if bringing our out of town friends and family here to sample the delicious fare. The sweet options are a sure hit, especially for any kiddos, and for when you want something yummy and filling! The savoury options are SO good- I should know, Ive tried literally all of them! Well except for the seafood crepe, I’m not a fish for breakfast kind of gal. Make sure you sign up for the punch card because you’ll probably end up coming here A LOT if...
