After a lovely day at the local market with friends, we decided to stop at a nearby cafĂ© for a break. One of my friends was holding a nearly finished coffee, fully intending to dispose of it once we found a trash can. As soon as we stepped inside, a middle-aged female staff member loudly informed us, âNo outside coffee out of respect.â While we understand and respect the cafĂ©âs policy, the tone of her statement was unnecessarily harsh and made us feel very unwelcome.
Rules are understandable and important, but we believe there are more courteous ways to communicate them. The fact that the entire café could hear the exchange made the situation even more uncomfortable, as it felt like a public reprimand. Originally, we had every intention of supporting this local business by purchasing drinks and food, but after this encounter, we decided against it.
Itâs unfortunate because the cafĂ© itself seemed promising, but the way the situation was handled really diminished our experience. While we respect the policies, we hope the staff can be more mindful of how they communicate them to customers. Sadly, I donât think weâll...
Read moreDo not go here if you want to work on your computer as there is a âno laptopâ rule⊠Not only have I never experienced this before, but also there was no sign indicating that you werenât allowed to use your laptop. What was worse was how she shouted this rule at me in front of everyone else in the shop, AFTER I had paid for my coffee. âNo laptops! Go to Tim Hortons who can still make money with their drive-thru while you sit there!â If I hadnât yet paid, I would have left and taken my business elsewhere. I understand that sometimes people stay a long time and that time is money, but I was only going to stay about an hour? And she was just so incredibly rude about it! The vibes are bad there⊠and I swear to god, if the owner leaves her signature response comment âyouâre not the only one who can pick up on vibesââŠâŠâŠ Also, when you ask for nondairy milk she yells at you that itâs $2 extra. Bruh, Iâm vegan. Iâm used to paying extra for shit. Donât...
Read moreWow, I was blown away by this place. It doesn't look like much but the food that comes out of it is sooo yummy! Everything is made to order with fresh chicken and bacon and greens! Plus, the complimentary side salad is a nice change from the constant barrage of french fries you get at other places. I'm not gluten free, but my husband is and he said that the gluten free clubhouse was hands down the best gluten free sandwich he has had in ages! And no extra charge for the GF option either, which was super cool. I was really impressed by the service as well. Everything was prepared efficiently and neatly. The waitress made sure we had everything we needed and more. The coffee there is so good. My latte even came with a pretty flower design. :D I almost didn't want to drink it! LONG STORY SHORT!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for yummy sandwiches, delicious beverages and...
