My friends and I went for dinner last night for the first time. The waitress was very polite and courteous. Started off with drinks & they were all delicious. We then ordered an assortment of wet & dry wings, they were cooked to perfection. From there on the restaurant got busy & we had to ask three times for napkins & glasses of water. Our main courses were tasty as well but unfortunately, my fish tacos were quite deceiving given that there were no spice levels indicated. My mouth started burning, & my lips started tingling. I was expecting a mild to moderate space level, which would’ve been completely fine, but the spice level overpowered the entire dish. My friend had to actually call the waiter over because I couldn’t even speak. I had just taken a few bites of the first taco. She said, unfortunately, if she would change the dish for me, I would have to pay for both dishes. I asked her if they can remove the overbearing sauce and she explained that it was mixed with the coleslaw so she offered me a serving of ranch sauce, which I gladly said yes please and yes, it did indeed balance the taste. My girlfriend’s chicken salad. It was a very spicy as well. When the bill came, I noticed that I was charged for the ranch which wouldn’t have bothered me if I was told beforehand. Another friend on the other hand ordered a burger and the waitress asked her if she would like the fries or the salad, she chose the salad. But her bill came she was billed extra for the salad. The burger said it came at fries, but the waiter should’ve specified that if you choose to have a replacement and there’s a fee. We brought it up to her and she couldn’t say anything I said listen you offered my friend the salad or the fries. She didn’t choose the...
Read moreAs the name suggest, this place specialize in wings. The menu does have many other option of food including vegetarian one.
The service is not very good. Many other table that arrive 5 to 10 minutes after we ordered got their food before us. We understand it was a busy Friday night although it was half empty when we arrived. But 45 minutes to get my wings (and only the wings, if someone would have told us I would ask to get there with the rest) and then another 30 minutes to get the nacho, then another 5 minutes to get the rest of the food for the other person.
I tried the spicy Buffalo wing. They were really good. The sauce spiciness level is like siracha so not that spicy. But they were properly cooked and juicy. But 17$ for 7 wings....
I then tried the burger. The the beef patty have no seasoning. It reminded me of eating a McDonald cheeseburger but at 22$ price tag. The fries are the brown soft potato stand style, not my preferred cut.
My girlfriend tried the nacho. It was kind of blend. The big question was where is the cheese, there was nearly none. A drizzle of sourcream and guacamole (looked a lot like liquid bottle of sauce) and that's about it.
My friend took the no bone wing which are chicken tender with a choice of sauce. The chicken was great and the sauce good.
If we visit again, it would be for the wings on a costly snack. Their were very good, but I'm unsure if its 20$ good.
If you want a burger, there's plenty of better option around here (jack flat bbq, elixor, jukebox bbq, la belle et la boeuf...)
As for nachos, everyone does it better then them, even Carlos and peppes which is really bad since covid.
So like I said, I might visit again if I have a wings craving on a summer day, but not...
Read moreThis is probably my favourite spot at Centropolis. It is casual, they make a mean blood order margarita and the food is really good and reasonably priced.
They, of course, specialize in wings and they top notch! We have tried several different flavours and dry rubs and all were delicious, the wings moist and the sauces are very flavourful.
Our first visit was the first night we were in town and we ate outside. On the terrace was really nice and a great place to people watch and drink and eat. Our server, Kostadina (sp) was excellent and so nice and friendly. What a great start!
I tried the Bone Marrow Poutine and it was so scrumptious! I had several of those Blood Orange Margaritas, super yummy. Hubs had 1lb of chicken wings, a spicy sauce one and the ketchup chips dry rubs. Both were excellent.
We liked it so much we went back again a few days later, though the weather was getting colder so we ate inside. I have to say, inside is overwhelming mostly because of so much music videos all around, I am not a fan of that, but it is not the end of the world and we still ended up coming back 2 more times and we are still in Laval for another 12 days.
Things we have ordered and loved:
Bone Marrow Poutine Ketchup Chip Wings General Tao Wings Chicken Tacos Brussel Sprouts Blood Orange Margarita
Other comments We like the Burrata fries but I wouldn't order again, it is worth trying though. I had a tuna dish (some kind of poke) but I did not enjoy it at all. The restaurant took it back (I took only a bite) and removed it from our bill.
The service has been excellent each time, with attentive welcoming staff. I highly recommend a visit if you are...
