We had such a horrible experience I don’t even know where to start.....
....Went for dinner with my In-laws. First of all, we chose this place because it’s close to home, been around for awhile and we have been there lots! Recently the reataurant has took a horrible turn. This is not our first horrible experience, or second of this nature and wanted to keep giving it a shot....
We arrived and were approached by a young lady who seemed so OVERWHELMED as she was serving and bar tending ALONE! It didn’t seem to odd since there was only one other table in the place that was seated. Sure, we figured it wasn’t a busy night. Also figured because of that THOUGHT service would be pleasant and fast. Boy! We’re we WRONG!
We got seated, took her 20 minutes to ask for our drinks at which time we also ordered since we had so much time to look at the menus and thought that would be the smart choice. The place starts to filter more people in ,which to me is super surprising because I don’t know how they get sit down customers at all! We waited another 10-15 minutes to get our drinks which were disgusting. Nothing that came from their pop machine had syrup and it tasted like water...with a tad of colour. Took another 40 minutes ish to get our food...meanwhile waiting to get our food, food was flying out the delivery doors. Not one table in the restaurant had food as we all watched food go almost every ten minutes out the door. When we got our food it was cold.......cold. Like it was sitting to come out....
I will not return to this place ever again and I recommmend to others not to go there either unless they have ALOT of time on their hands and don’t care if they get served cold food with a side of awakard jokes about how long it took.
And from a former customers point of view to the owners: close your restaurant that you clearly don’t care about and just do delivery since that’s what’s clearly more...
Read moreThe staff are very friendly. As a first timer, they were very gracious, wished me well, and hoped to see me again. I've gotten a few donair pizzas from them over the last few months and they've been awesome every time. Their pizza might not be quite as good 87's or especially La Bezt's (in Spruce Grove), but Monty's is a little cheaper than either of them. That being said, they're still more expensive than some of the other local options such as Firezone, but the heftiness of their pizza makes up for it. The 25%-off deal for pizza on Mondays certainly helps too. Monty's does their pizzas very cheesy, and they use great cheese as far as I'm concerned. Overall a great place. Would absolutely recommend you give them a try.
Edit: Since this review, prices have gone up considerably, and the Monday discount is no longer a thing. These points considered, Monty's is just poor value. It tastes great, but not $34 a pizza great. Every other pizza place in the area offers a measurably better value...
Read moreGreat food here. I've never been inside but I've made several large delivery orders to my work and the food always arrives hot. Even though we are outside the Lessard area, they made an exception to deliver to us because it was not busy peak hours. The wait was long, but worth it. We ordered pizza and pasta. The pizza here is very classic, old school, they don't skimp on the cheese and it always has a satisfying golden broil on top of the thick gooey cheeses. I found the "famous meat sauce" in the lasagna a little salty for my taste but the flavour was great as was the alfredo fettuccini, and again, they don't skimp on cheese at all. Only downside was the garlic toast had no actual garlic on it :( A large pasta fed 3 of us for 17$. For the price, I feel like I got better quality than say Boston Pizza. Great pizza place in Edmonton, I will eat...
