Hot Pho Restaurant — Restaurant in Maple Ridge

I just moved to Maple Ridge from East Vancouver, where there were plenty of amazing Pho restaurants to choose from. Since Pho is one of my favourite styles of food to order, I was worried I might not find a new spot given the limited Vietnamese restaurants in the Maple Ridge area. Boy was I wrong! As soon as I tasted the broth of my first bowl of Hot Pho noodle soup, I knew I found my new local take out joint. It was so flavourful and delicious. The house special (#14) is great, so is the beef stew with noodles. Last time I ordered the lemongrass pork platter (#64) and that was also incredibly delicious. The owners are also super friendly and genuinely concerned about your sastifaction. I'm surprised that the place sat empty last Friday night and truly hoped that they were getting nothing but take out orders. Or maybe Vietnamese isn't that popular here in the Ridge? If you've never tried this place, do it! You won't regret it. And if you've never tried Vietnamese but like Chinese food...what are you waiting for?!? It's incredible! I have been here several times, and always left satisfied. However, today I was so unhappy so I regret to leave such a low rating. Firstly we ordered a salad roll and recieved the smallest portion I have ever seen. I understand costs are rising, but I would much prefer to a higher cost than receive such a sad portion. The broth was also relatively flavourless but passable.

The worst part of this experience was the franks hot sauce in the hot sauce bottles instead of sriracha. I am well aware of the sriracha shortage that is occurring, but franks is honestly probably the worst substitute there is. Thankfully, we noticed it was franks before putting it in my soup, otherwise it would've been inedible. I would much prefer if they used a sriracha knock-off, or didn't have it on the table at all. Not having sriracha at a pho restaurant is unforgivable and feels like a slap in the face.

Customer service experience wasn't the best here when I came here with my girlfriend, she found a piece of HAIR inside a spring roll, don't get me wrong, mistakes happen like this at any restaurant. So we kindly told them that we found a piece of hair inside and expected a new order as of good customer service is supposed to be. The waitress was skeptical of what we found and had to point it out to her, she then takes it back to the kitchen quickly for the cook to come out and blame it was my girlfriend's hair in the food instead..., They brought back the food and showed us that there was no hair because clearly they took it out in the kitchen and still has the audacity to say it was ours when what we say the hair was INSIDE the spring roll. Nontheless food is still great but this was just a bad customer...
