Alina Cafe and Eatery — Restaurant in Maple Ridge

The lady serving was not fully attentive, she had her mask off and it was sitting below her chin, while she was talking on the phone using a headphone to someone else. She said there was no food so I ordered 2 of the 3 crossoints on display. I asked for a small tea after seeing the cups sizes on display on the counter. She said they don't have small sizes only large. I cancelled that. She put the crossoint to warm up in the oven on a stained burnt tray. I asked her to put her mask on before she handled my order out of the oven. Whilst she was waiting for the crossoints to warm up she was scrolling on her phone, scratching her head and she did not sanatize her hands at all. Very disappointed with the lack of appropriate clean service and the lack of choice available. I would be careful ordering from this place during COVID. That member of staff was not following the guidelines. She was also not wearing gloves nor did she wash her hands before touching the food...

If we are going off flavour I’d give this place a 5/5, even more if I could. However I ordered take out twice from them this week, one of the times was yesterday and I pulled a few hairs out of my Asian G bowl. Which was phenomenal aside from that.. so good that I still craved it today. Hair doesn’t really gross me out unless it’s in my mouth (I’m a hair dresser). Anyways today I ordered takeout again, my Asian G bowl was not Asian G bowl, I ended up with the Buddah bowl. Which I’ll admit was good if you’re into less texture in your bowl.. anyways I also ordered the shrimp salad roll with avocado. (Ordered this before lots and always amazing) today I noticed that they failed to remove the poop sacks from the shrimp. Ew just ew. Luckily I noticed before I ate and was able to remove but still gross. Also half of the avocado I paid for was brown.

This place has something good going for them, it’s just sad to see that they don’t have...

Usually I have a wonderful experience here and have come back multiple times. However after today I don’t know if I’ll ever come back. The woman behind the counter was extremely rude and we came into multiple issues with her. We wanted to pay with half cash and half card and she simply would not let us and was angered by the fact that we would even ask. We also asked if we could buy a bottle of monin syrup, which we have purchased from here before. When we asked if we could purchase it she said that no we were not allowed, even though it was in the for sale section of the cafe. She called the owner at my boyfriends request to ask and he said yes absolutely. She has also not let us order from her multiple times even though they were still open. This woman is the only worker we have had issues with and hopefully if we do decide to come back we do not get met with the same rudeness...
