Even they pay me won’t make me eat there ever again after my experience yesterday afternoon. The reasons follow: They made me sit together with a young couple even though there were many other empty tables. I didn’t think the couple would appreciate my intrusion of their privacy, had I not insisted to sit at another table. The beverage that came with the afternoon tea combo took a long time to arrive even the place was not very busy. Other places usually got you the beverage so you could enjoy it while waiting for the food to be prepared. Mine didn’t until I reminded them and 5 minutes after the food item was served. The bill took a very long to come and by that time almost the whole place was empty and I saw at least 3 waitress working the place. I was sharing a table with a sick guy coughing and sneezing the whole time. I desperately needed to get out of there. After waiting 10 minutes for the change, I decided to walk up to the cashier and asked for the change. There were two change trays waiting to be returned to other patrons but they were just left there the whole time while I was waiting for mine. The waitresses in the floor seemed to be around not doing anything in particular. Despite me having told them I was in a hurry, it still took them 5 more minutes for my change while I stood at the cashier. Guess what, they shortchanged me. My bill was $6.22. I gave them $10 and my change should be $3.75. They gave me $3.05. By that time I had enough of the whole ordeal and took all except the 5 cent and hope they realized it wasn’t me who didn’t leave a tip but because they decided to short change me. Be forewarned....
Read morePoor communication skills - the one (Mandarin speaking) who answered for my takeout order (1:30pm) does not understand either English/Cantonese - just kept telling me to order in store. I told her I was tight in schedule & that's the reason why I liked to place my order in advance on phone. I requested for someone else who knows Cantonese/English to talk to me but she kept on telling me to go in person. I managed to get a "Mandarin speaking" lady to call for me after about 4 minutes, but nobody in the restaurant picked up the phone even after 4 trials - I had a feeling that she didn't want to answer because she could tell I was the same caller from their phone display. I had finally to give up this order. I phoned at around 4pm (non-rush hour), trying to talk with either the owner/person-in-charge & was told none of them was there. She said she doesn't know what time either one of them would be in the restaurant when I asked her about a time to call again (1st half of our conversation was in Cantonese & I can't figure out why the 2nd half was in Mandarin). She asked me what the complaint was & I said I would only like to discuss with the owner or the person-in-charge. I just wonder whether the owner aims at having Mandarin speaking customers only or the clients have to start learning Mandarin for any...

When you manage to jam-pack such a heavy smoky flavour in each bite of perfectly soft thick rice noodles, you know it will fill your belly and the hole in your heart. I genuinely wanted to pick up the plate and shovel bites nonstop, as the eggy aromas perfume throughout your mouth and the bean sprouts and onions, provide a refreshing contrast in texture. The fresh, bouncy shrimp and chewy fish cakes also add another dimension of umami to each bite. However, the baked tomato porkchop rice doesn't let itself get overshadowed, with a fried rice base that has an equal amount of wok hei as the noodles, topped with a juicy, tender portion of fried porkchop which absorbs all of the sweet and tangy tomato sauce poured on top, finished with a generous sprinkling of cheese and baked for an indulgent, unforgetting bite that has literally everything to activate your...
