This place was recommended as a hidden gem on Reddit. A big bowl of hot soup and hand made noodles on a cold night seemed obvious. Surprisingly, this place was not busy on a Saturday night. The place is quite spacious and the service was fast. They spoke both English and Chinese(Cantonese and Mandarin).

The menu has both a small and large option, the large was huge compared to other noodle options such as Pho. I ordered the large and ate 2/5 before I bowed out. The soup was hot, flavourful, and overflowing with braised beef. My meal must've included at least a pound of beef. I am so use to ramen dishes that cost $26 and only include a few things slices of pork.

The noodles were not satisfactory (disappointed). First I was hoping for fresh handmade noodles i.e someone at the front of the house making the noodles (as you'd see at magic noodle in the past). I ordered the regular flat. The flat noodles were too big and thick. Felt like I was trying to unravel a large sheet of cold and hard dough. My friend ordered the regular round noodles and they were also too hard (think undercooked noodles or al dente). I suspect the noodles aren't made on demand and instead prepared ahead of time and then stored in the fridge.

I also ordered some side dishes, Shanghai buns and rice noodle rolls. The Shanghai buns were exceptional, hot, crispy bun, and flavourful soup accompanying the meat filling. The rice noodle was mediocre.

In conclusion, incredible value in today's economy. Can't go wrong with any of their main noodle bowls. You will be full afterwards. The decor reminds you of eating at a upscaled Asia Street market. Lastly, the noodles are unpredictable, go for a thinner and softer option if you don't like al...

Finally tried out this location after having been to the north york location several times. And there's definitely a few differences.

This place is much larger, which means more a lot more seats available. There's at least seating for 60 (compared to maybe a dozen), but it still gets packed. The menu is also a bit larger, offering some additional bowls and apps that aren't available at the other location. Tables are packed together tightly however, and moving around proves to be difficult. I guess no matter how large the space is, things will still be tight as they try to optimize the number of customers they can seat. There's only two people taking orders and serving food, so expected limited service.

They also have a portrait of bruce lee holding three skewers of meat.

I ordered a large lamb noodle soup, since it is only offered at this location. They also have the option for a whole bowl of pork intestine. Can't beat markham when it comes to innards.

The bowl came within 10 minutes, but I still got mine before the table beside me, and they had ordered before I did.

Size of the bowl is alright. Comes with a good portion of noodles. Not as much meat though, but fortunately it's not mostly bones or anything. There is a strong sesame flavor in the noodles, which they likely mix in when they're making the noodles themselves.

The soup also had a lot of sesame flavor. You can see oil floating around the top. I don't have a particular preference towards sesame oil, but it tasted a bit too strong to me.

The lamb had that subtle gamey flavor, but personally I would have liked stronger lamb.

I've never had much luck with lamb noodle soup for the most part. Maybe the braised beef would be better.

They...

Fantastic Noodles, Amazing Wings & Super Family-Friendly! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**

Big Beef Bowl 牛大碗 (8362 Kennedy Rd) is our absolute go-to for a satisfying and hassle-free family dinner! We keep coming back for good reason.

The star of the show is, of course, the noodles – they are absolutely huge portions and the quality is consistently excellent. You definitely get your money's worth. Love that you can customize by adding a generous portion of extra veggies for just $5.

Don't skip the 小食 (small dishes)! Their fried chicken wings are truly top-notch – crispy, flavorful, and always a hit. We've tried several of their other small plates too, and they've all been great.

What really sets Big Beef Bowl apart for families like ours is the space. The restaurant is incredibly roomy and well-laid out. It's so easy to navigate with a stroller, and they have high chairs available, making it genuinely stress-free to dine with little ones.

Considering the massive bowl of high-quality noodles and delicious shared 小食, the price point is very fair at around $20-$25 per person. It's fantastic value for the quality and quantity you receive.

Highly recommend Big Beef Bowl for delicious, hearty food, especially if you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming spot that easily accommodates families and groups. We'll definitely be regulars for...

Big Beef Bowl is my brother's favourite spot, and it never ceases to amaze me. The place was bustling, as usual. It’s cash or debit only, but they offer a very affordable set menu—with congee starting under $10 and noodles under $15—so I wasn't too bothered. I went straight for the oxtail noodles, which were hearty and savory. The broth was mild, and the oxtails were tender and delicious. However, the hand-pulled noodles really stole the spotlight. I loved how they even provided scissors to snip them into more manageable bites. The Rice Noodle Roll was crunchy and savory, with soft rice noodles wrapping it all up nicely. It makes a good snack or a shareable dish if you still have room after all those noodles. I also tried their Shanghai Bao. The contrast between the crispy bottom and the juicy filling was pure bliss. Service was quick and efficient. Despite the crowd, my meal arrived in only about ten minutes. It does get quite crowded, and the cleanliness was acceptable. They’re a bit shy with the meat, but they give you enough noodles to keep your belly full. If you're in the area and craving a hearty noodle fix, this is the place to be!
