I recently had the misfortune of dining at Lucky Seafood House, and let me tell you, luck was nowhere to be found in that establishment. From start to finish, it was a culinary catastrophe that left a bitter taste in my mouth—not from the food, mind you, but from the sheer incompetence of the staff and management.
First and foremost, let's talk about the service—or lack thereof. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone's attention, and when we finally did, they seemed utterly disinterested in taking our orders or even acknowledging our presence. It was as if we were invisible patrons inconveniencing them by daring to dine at their establishment.
And don't even get me started on the wait times. Waiting for a table? Expect to be twiddling your thumbs for an eternity. Waiting for your food? You might as well bring a sleeping bag and set up camp because you'll be there all night. It's as if they're operating on "seafood time," where minutes stretch into hours without rhyme or reason.
Now, let's talk about the pièce de résistance: the management. Or should I say, the lack thereof. It's abundantly clear that whoever is running this sinking ship has no clue what they're doing. There's no semblance of organization, no sense of urgency, and certainly no commitment to customer satisfaction.
To add insult to injury, the food itself was mediocre at best. The seafood tasted like it had been swimming in the murky depths for far too long, and don't even get me started on the presentation—it looked like something you'd find at the bottom of a dumpster behind a seafood joint that had long since given up on quality.
In conclusion, save yourself the trouble and steer clear of Lucky Seafood House. There's nothing lucky about it—unless you consider stumbling upon a restaurant with abysmal service and management to be a stroke of...
Read moreDimm sum is average & plenty choices, but they add 12% service charge after tax(it's not fair) also lately the tea charge go up to $2.50/ea is crazy gone up 25%, specially when we've more than 10 persons+3children, why they charge the kids under 5 yrs.old for 2.50/tea charge, even the Mandarin buffet charge less for kids under 12 yrs.old The Peking duck is not juicy, deep fried chicken is so dry, but the dish presentation is good! Is there any VIP provide to the group for paying less tea charge, think about it, because it's just water, the group only order 2 kinds of tea flavour, is no way to pay high tea charge /ea. I know some restaurant only charge flat rate if 6 & up, think about it! When we've more than 10 persons, we'll hold our horses to go for dim sum, because have to pay expensive tea charge 🥴 then we'll pick other restaurant without fixed service charge & high tea charge🤔 As if May/2025 ordered dinner combo $178.00 one of the dish was stir-fried Geoduck & pork jawl meat w/assorted vegetables, only had 5 small yellow colored Geoduck(was the side of Geoduck) supposed to be white or clear color if provided the middle of Geoduck, complaint to the manager, he wasn't say anything & take no action , just walked by, so impolite & ignorant 😞 The braised 6 abalone w/snow pea tips wasn't great either, the abalone was so tiny & the snow pea tips were so tough👎 Also the Peking duck wrapped were so thick & not warm enough?! $178.00 is over price for this combo, if ordered separately even much cheaper than the combo, food quality is absolutely not good, also they charged 12% service charge after HST??! Will report to the Government Department accordingly, no return to this restaurant anymore, so...
Read moreThe standout feature of this establishment is its budget-friendly dim sum. From Monday to Friday, between 9 AM and 3 PM, and on weekends and holidays from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, you can enjoy small, medium, or large (food type, not size) dishes for just $4.98—cash only, otherwise regular price apply. However, you often get what you pay for: while some dishes, like the rice noodle, are acceptable (barely), others, such as the pork bun and various dumplings, are bland and lack flavor.
Food presentation leaves much to be desired, as dishes often appear carelessly plated, randomly thrown to the dish or basket, detracting from their appeal. They do not look appetizing at all. Additionally, there’s a $2.50 charge for tea per person. There seemed to be no English or bilingual menu.
Food is served quickly, and the service is efficient, but the staff are not friendly and welcoming. Some of them are even rude.
They were charged with food premise not maintained with food handling room in sanitary condition on July 11, 2024, but it seems they have since addressed these concerns. Lunchtime can get quite busy, likely due to the early bird special, and the small size of the restaurant—complete with two tables near the entrance—means that those seated there might struggle to get timely service.
To draw in more patrons, they also offer lunch take-out and dinner seafood specials, though we haven’t tried these options. Given our experience with the dim sum, we’re hesitant to risk dinner here, even at lower prices.
The ambiance is unremarkable, and it seems little renovation has been done. The decor is quirky rather than elegant, and the low ceilings can make the space feel cramped and...
