Came on July 13 at night. Would give a 0 star or even a negative if I can. Service was absolutely terrible. I have the snappy app and had a coupon for referral on snappy and spoke to the manager. I had an 15%, 20% and 30% discount (see picture below). Instead of kindly apologizing and saying the offer is not applicable, the manager rudely yelled at us and jumped around angrily. She even yelled at my family and told them that it was not her fault and that it was snappy app’s fault. She expressed that she can sue them and told us that it is not her problem and that if she gives us a discount she will lose her salary. Then, she just kept repeating the same thing louder and more aggressive each time. Her words were “it’s not my fault it’s snappy and I don’t know about this”.
One thing that we found most disturbing is that she said she understood, but did absolutely nothing and explained that she had no idea about the offers. How can a company possible have no idea what is happening with their partnership (snappy)? Then she said she would tell snappy to remove the offers right away. What is that supposed to mean?
My family and I will never be returning to this restaurant again. The service is terrible and the attitude was even worst. I told her I would be writing this review and she didn’t seem to care except the fact that if she gave us a discount 15% she would lose her salary. She made my heart jump so fast and I felt so scared, and angry. How could a manager speak to customers that way? A manager should make us feel welcomed, and solve problems but not her, she does the opposite. She gave us no solutions besides the fact that she can’t do anything. She made us angry and hurt by the way she spoke.
When paying, she explained again that she filed a report to the customer service for snappy. Once again, with a terrible attitude, she yelled that it isn’t her fault when one of my family member confronted her.
A manager does not speak to customers this way. In fact, no one should feel this way when leaving a restaurant. Absolutely ruined my evening. Never coming back again. Thank you for the terrible experience. Come eat here if you want to get yelled at and have a...
Read moreOur waiter was rather nice, and the hostess too. They also have rather unique instant noodle decorations, but that is it.
Every, single, piece of sashimi served was frozen. Water was dripping from the sashimi when it melted, resulting in a small puddle of water in the middle of the plate.
Sushi was unoriginal. Every single roll there is the same. 40% cucumber, 40% imitation crab, 20% avocado, topped with your choice of fish. As a result, every roll tasted the exact same.
Do not get their beef. The beef that they cook is as tough as nails. I may not have the strongest jaw, but it took on average 3 minutes of chewing to swallow one piece of beef. In addition, the beef is overly seasoned, giving a rather cloy taste.
After eating the above items, I decided to go for a change of pace. Perhaps this establishment had other dishes worhty of merit? I tried the beef udon. Result: udon was overcooked and mushy, with none of the chewy and bouncy texture it should have. Are the chefs cooking udon as they would cook instant noodles? Because that is how it seems.
Ironically, the best dish the restaurant serves is probably the mango cheese sushi roll. Ironic because the main ingredients, the cheese and mango, are ingredients that require minimal processing. Oh, have I mentioned that sashimi is also a dish that requires minimal processing? Sashimi is dish that mainly relies on the quality of the ingredients. Of course, it is foolish to expect the highest quality of ingredients from an all-you-can-eat. However, it is absolutely puzzling that even the lowest of bars cannot be met. Please. Stop. Serving. Frozen. Fish.
Please learn, owners, and respect your customers. Having every slice of sashimi be frozen gives you a very bad look. I understand the struggle of small restaurants, but is it necessary to earn such a small profit margin from purchasing low quality fish? Is it worth the customer turnover and losing future business? Is it necessary to hire a chef who does not know that steak is not supposed to be well done?
I will never be coming back. Oh, and their popsicle was...
Read moreUnintentionally went here twice back to back - once for dinner and the day after for lunch as we were in the neighbourhood and craving sushi. Honestly not sure why this place isn’t rated higher. For the price you pay, $34.99 weekend dinner and ~ $28? for weekend lunch (i forgot the price), the value and quality you get is amazing.
Sashimi pieces are thick and fresh - they serve amaebi, scallop and ika which are not typically found on most all you can eat menus and my favourites! For lunch, they have a limit of 10 pieces of person which was actually a pleasant surprise since most places don’t serve sashimi for lunch.
The rolls were well balanced - not too much rice and had a nice amount of fish. They were pretty big though so don’t over order. The spider roll was delicious at dinner but when we went the next day at lunch, it was not as fresh - but still good.
Fried and cooked foods were pretty typical. I’m a big fan of costco fries so I always like to order them on the side. Scallops were meaty with a thin batter, I didn’t try the takoyaki. The beef was definitely on the fattier side as you can see in the picture but still flavourful.
Sushi pieces have a lot of rice which I expected so again, don’t order too much unless you’re a huge rice eater. Nothing stood out too much for the most part with the nigiri although I did really enjoy the torched salmon.
All in all, I will definitely be returning. They’re by far the most affordable AYCE in the area. The staff were also very quick and efficient. I do wish they had more dessert options though but there isn’t much to...
