Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Markham

Not the most glamourous photo of the POPEYE'S FAMOUS CLASSIC CHICKEN SANDWICH but a busy store meant my food got a little roughed up in the process (and that's okay, 'cause my tastebuds were happy!) I went at open time to avoid any possible line ups and the store was already bustling with orders from in-store customers as well as delivery orders.

You can snatch this sandwich in a spicy version was well, but I opted for the MILD for my first taste test ($5.99 plus tax). The most impressive thing about this is its texture! The chicken patty itself is moist thanks for the buttermilk-coating while having very crispy and crunchy sides without any trail of grease. This sits on top of a soft and buttery brioche bun which I really liked as well. For more flavor, this sandwich has its own sauce and loads of pickles. Was it worth the hype? YES in my opinion as it met my expectations and I couldn't ask for anything more.

The staff were quick efficient as my order took only about 5-10 minutes to be ready after ordering. Service was also friendly and they included condiments (Louisiana hot sauce and ketchup) with my order without even asking. I genuinely appreciate the accuracy of my order (i.e. they remembered to give me my extra sauces, and the correct ones, as this is usually a miss at other locations which aren't even half as busy).

Update: I really want to applaud this location because I'm reading about other people's experience at other locations and theirs is nothing in comparison. Others have complained about their small sandwiches, lack of sauce, and lack of pickles but this was the complete opposite of what I got! Thank you to the employees here for maintaining standards despite the heavy traffic and making sure their customers get the best!

Okay, I am pretty sure most people have heard of the famous chicken sandwich BUT did you know that they came out with a new flounder sandwich too?! 🐟

Honestly, I have to say that their flounder sandwich is much better than their chicken one if you ask me 🥳 I have to thank a foodie influencer on Instagram for writing a very descriptive post about it because otherwise I would have never known... Seems like Popeyes was trying this sandwich out in the market secretly for some reason 🤫

My goodness, if you like the filet-o-fish from McDonalds, you are going to fall head over heels for this sandwich from Popeyes!

The sandwich consists of a piece of flounder that has been coated in a cajun mix (to give it a kick 🌶️), then lightly battered, topped with tartar sauce, and pickles! 🤤 All of that is between some fluffy brioche buns 🔥

I would order this every single time I am craving fish and chips! Their flounder sandwich and their cajun poutine would hit the spot for me for a whole day's worth of calories 😂

Mmm love Popeyes chicken! I really like this location!

Also lots of stars because there's not a lot of staff turn over and the food is consistently made so you know what to expect.

Location: Near my house :p

Parking: Its a free lot. Can very rarely get really busy but there always seems to be a spot or two available!

Decor: It's tiny there's limited seating buts mostly a take out spot anyway.

There are some booths , a couple of tables and a counter with 2 or 3 seats

It's very clean. The washroom is clean too and always stocked

The Goods: The typical Popeyes Goods.

Yup. Love the chicken with mashed potatoes and a biscuit. Wings are good!

Staff: Everyone is nice. There's of course a turnover because it's fast food but people tend to stay here longer.

The manager is nice too. One time I dropped my key fob under a car ( not mine) and he actually retrieved it for me!
