I would have to agree with the majority of reviewers on this location of Teriyaki Experience. I remember what got me hooked on this place years ago: generous portions, fresh vegetables, good service etc. Those days are long gone. I cannot believe how cheap and stingy this Franchisee is with the amount of beef or chicken he adds to the dishes! They now serve the food in boxes - which FYI are large and pretty deep. Every single time i go there, i have to ask them to top up the rice, otherwise it's a super thin layer with the cheap shreds of meat that they add. The portions used to have a great balance of rice/vegetable to meat ratio. Definitely not the case anymore. My last visit 2 weeks ago, I ordered beef and wanted to add chicken (i was sharing with my 5 yr old). I paid $11 for the beef dinner and then another $6 for chicken to be added. $17 + tax?!?! Since when?!? Thankfully, there is no shortage of Japanese establishments to eat at in Markham and they are not fast food like Teriyaki Experience. If i'm going to pay $19 for fast food - i'll take a hard pass and head to Osaka Sushi where i can get sirloin steak dinner and it includes rice, veggies, soup & salad for $20. And lastly, stop being so darn CHEAP with the sauce! You pour it on making my meal into a soup, but when i ask for it on the side, you don't want to give me 2 on the side. Most of the time it's watered down anyways. I guess they take us customers for fools, as if we've never tried it before or purchased it at a supermarket to know what it's supposed...

Wife and I stopped by for a late dinner (8:30pm Monday) at Teriyaki experience. As we entered, we saw a chef preparing food with no one at the cashier. There was no acknowledgment of our entering, but we stood by the POS patiently. After about 10 minutes, we asked the chef if anyone is around to take our order. He acknowledged and said, “gimme a minute”, and continues preparing food, at that time we were the only patrons in the store. We waited a few moments and said “hello?”, and decided to leave because there were no further acknowledgement.
The restaurant was clearly open for another hour before closing.
As your potential customer, I don’t want to feel like I’m intruding your store, I don’t need to keep following up for you to our orders. I made no fuss, only waited patiently. Luckily, there were other restaurants nearby and we didn’t go home hungry.
We’ve both had the Teriyaki Experience at other locations, but this Experience (Warden/Hwy7) certainly doesn’t represent the rest...
Read moreGreat stop for a filling lunch/dinner that meets the criteria for "healthy." The food tastes authentic and packaged very well for on-the-go. The hospitality is very classy, responsive, and friendly. There is an Asian women who sometimes works at the register who is the owner of the store. I've been coming here for years and she knows my whole family. She is the perfect example of excellent customer service as she maintains a positive and friendly attitude while communicating with customers and goes above and beyond to make a connection with them. Thus, whenever a customer has a feedback or complaint, she actively listens and takes proactive measures to ensure the next experience is better. The only reason why I didn't give this a 5 star was, the prices are little too high and they closed the washrooms but other than that everything else is gold. People who are reading this review, Put this place on your next meal list as this is a really awesome, clean...
