The new kid in town for TexMex dining (this is Review No. 7 only) and we've eaten from here twice this week already. Enthusiastic staff eager to please, dontcha' just wish restaurants stayed new appreciating your hard-earned dollar permanently?
I ordered two of the largest chicken burritos and at $10.48 apiece they're not cheap. However the cook will load four scoops of chicken (!) into that burrito (check the pics!) and by the time he finished it's clear a veteran surgeon would have trouble wrapping that thing shut.
Ingredients are crispy fresh, okay a dollop of guacamole could have been included at this price (c'mon, you're new in town - wow us!), and you have three choices of hot sauces. They're huge burritos and they're C-H-U-N-K-Y heavy.
I also ordered three soft shell ground beef tacos which just simply blew us away in mouthwatering taste. The ground beef is spice-say! Dinner came in at $30.00 and that bag was so heavy I inadvertently popped the trunk to take it home. Next time it's gonna be the ground beef burrito instead of the chicken which in no way suggests the chicken was bad 'cause my waistline says otherwise...
We polished off the tacos (three are under 10 bucks!) and we split one of those gigantic burritos. We split the other burrito for our next day's lunches.
Two (big) meals for a couple for $30.00? Now that's value. $7.50 a meal! Who feels like cookin' from scratch now?
Service is fast, the place was hopping and my order was complete in much less time than anticipated. Each clerk takes one customer from cradle to grave like an assembly line and at check-out time swings back to the order table and picks up the next customer. This way they can process 2 or 3 orders at a time rather than other places where they lumber through only one order at a time. Henry Ford couldn't have planned this more efficiently! Why can't restaurants stay like this all the time...and not just when they're brand new in town?
So far, the best TexMex act in town. I hope they don't start skimpin' back on toppings and crankin' up the attitude like that other burrito place in town I no longer frequent?
Oh, and the hottest of those three sauces? Five healthy drops on your burrito and you'll be humming this one -
"Well, I hear it's fine if you got the time and the ten to get yourself in!"
UPDATE: On December 2nd of 2020, I ordered dinner for my small family which included an order of the "Extreme Chips" which is a small container of nacho chips with everything you want (at least for the last two years) in it. But the rules have arbitrarily changed, it seems. At $4.00 for a small bowl of nacho chips (these are not expensive, mind you - $4.00 will buy you a bag the size of a Buick LeSabre at the supermarket!) and now the "new rule" is four toppings maximum. So nice and easy the "manager", a kid of about twenty, warned me that additional toppings are now 25 cents more...apiece. A pinch of cilantro? 25 cents? A pinch of onions? 25 cents? A pinch of tomatoes? 25 cents? (I didn't think veg toppings were so pricey.)
What's going on with the nickel-and-diming with one of their very first Google reviewers? The "manager kid" even claimed I was charged extra for these additions in the past and that this has always been the store policy...which conveniently is not posted anywhere in the restaurant. I have never been charged extra for toppings
Sorry, but his Smart Alec customer service is not appropriate with one of your first faithful customers since the restaurant opening - and if I have been charged extra on ingredients, I've never been advised of it.
I will not be frequenting this restaurant any more. 25-cent surcharges for a pinch of cilantro just costed you a faithful customer.
Minus 2 on your Google Review score. I trust that the pinch of cilantro you saved yourself will now be worth it.
(By sheer coincidence, seeing as it is all females working there except for a friendly young Sikh gentleman, that the "manager kid" was the one I caught working sans mask this past summer during the Covid-19...
Read moreI'm writing this review as a warning to others: stay far, far away from Bar Burrito! My experience with this establishment was a culinary nightmare that left me with a severe food poisoning infection, which later developed into a debilitating airway infection.
The fateful evening began with a visit to Bar Burrito, eager to indulge in their touted burritos. The food arrived, and I dug in, unaware of the horror that was to come. Within hours, I was struck with excruciating stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. The symptoms only worsened, and I was bedridden for days, unable to even keep water down.
The real kicker? The food poisoning infection progressed into a severe airway infection, leaving me gasping for breath and struggling to sleep. The doctor's diagnosis? A direct result of the tainted food from Bar Burrito.
Here's the kicker: when I tried to contact the restaurant to report the incident, they were dismissive and uncooperative. No apology, no offer to compensate for medical expenses, just a curt "sorry to hear that."
Bar Burrito, your negligence and lack of concern for customer well-being are appalling. Your food may taste decent, but the consequences are far from worth it. Until you take food safety seriously and show genuine care for your customers' health, I'll be spreading the word: avoid Bar Burrito like the plague!
PS: If you value your health, opt for a different dining option. Trust me, your stomach (and lungs)...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed with my experience at this location. I ordered a chicken burrito bowl and a burrito wrap that was refrigerator cold (I live only a 5 min drive away) and tasted awful. The bowl had more beans than the actual chicken for it to even be called a ‘chicken burrito’. They are extremely skimpy on the meat portions here. That’s not even the worst of it - when I called to complain the manager (Kushal) promised that I could receive a new order for free the next time I come in and requested I give them another chance. So, we went after a few weeks to give this location another try but Kushal went back on his word and said he would only give the burrito for free and not the bowl. He also insisted that we cannot leave a bad review after we went back and forth on this. The manager will basically attempt to buy your silence by handing out a free burrito and will demand you to not leave a bad review in exchange. During this second visit his demeanor was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. The rest of the staff also cannot communicate without getting 3 people’s opinions. Please note, It was never about receiving free food instead it’s about the service and quality of food that detracted from the...
