This was our second time at Ned Devines Irish Pub tonight and I was taken back by the service we received by the "General Manager".
We called in to see if this place was Dog friendly on thier lower outdoor patio and to our surprise, the owner (an older gentleman with a cruth) said they were so we came in and had a great meal, myself, my wife and our dog last visit.
We decided to go back today and called yet again to verify if we could bring our dog and was told we could yet again so we walked over and had dinner on the lower outdoor patio that faces the parking lot.
During the start of our dinner, the service manager who was eying us the entire night, giving us what seemed like dirty looks told us that dog's aren't allowed on the patio due to laws and regulations..... claiming they could get fined due to us having our dog on thier patio...
My issue with that is that he is wrong and uneducated on the matter.
On January 1st 2020 the rules and regulations regarding pets on outdoor patios changed (loosened up) to legally allow pets on all outdoor patios and even allows them in indoor environments like micro breweries and places that serve alcohol. (As long as the business permits it, it's allowed)
I could tell that the manger simply didn't like dogs by his body language and his vibe said it all.. I even mentioned to him that I called in advance to verify we could bring our dog but it clearly didn't matter.
If he personally doesn't want pets on their lower outdoor patio which faces the parking lot and is typically always empty than he should make an effort to put up some signage and let the rest of the staff know his personal policies..
If he simply doesn't know the current rules and regulations regarding the situation than he should make an effort to make sure his information is correct and up to date before advertising it.
It's a shame because we would love to bring our family and friends back there again, but after this experience that won't be happening.
I do hope they can figure out thier policies and procedures and advertise them accordingly so no one eles has such an unwelcoming and unexpectedly negative and akward experience like we did tonight. Our dinner was ruined and I could wait to get out of there sooner because of the general manger.
I want to thank the owner for bringing our dog a glass of water last time we ate there and thank the servers for their...
Read moreI was 1of the winners of the free limo for Devine Saturday July 13th, we won the limo, table reserved and 1 bottle of champagne. We could bring up to 14 guests in total, and we were seated on the patio upstairs. The dance floor was small and got smaller when the last winner of there contest arrived with 9 people and they had to extend there table into the dance floor. We asked to be moved to the other side of the DJ against the back wall of the patio(so we would be out of the way and give them more space for the dance floor), however when the employee went for help he had a dirty look on his face that was visible on his face like we had asked him to reset the while day. I didn't appreciate it! But let's talk about the service now(I in no way place blame on our server) we waited to long for service at our table and had to clear away the empty plates and glasses ourselves all night(again not the servers fault). Here's why we had to "bus" our own table, management had only assigned two lady's to the bar and service of the tables. The ladies where overwhelmed and stuck behind the bar almost all night. As to the music they seem to think that there is only one type of music and that the 30+ crowd wants to listen to club music that my teenagers listen to. As the night moved forward the music did change but when we finally got to 30+ style all they played was hip hop and r&b. I'm sorry but I seem to recall that there where many types and styles of music and I would have liked to hear a better mix of all the mucus from our time's. We did order food which was good however our nachos had very little cheese and only one small solo cup of sour cream and one Salsa. Also we had bruschetta which was nice however the portion size was for giants we had to cut it up to make it manageable for eating (which caused most of the topping to fall off). The "best" part of the evening came when we were leaving, there was no limo to bring the us home so we we're stranded at the bar(thank God for Uber), I was not told the limo was only to the bar(which was poor planning on the part of management) Overall this was a better experience then the first time I went but I am seriously...
