Had my first experience here today and I will for sure be back! To start - I don't prefer alcohol beverages but hubby loves his beer and breweries.
The bartender was great. He greeted when we walked in. They seemed a bit short with I believe one server. She was okay but could have been a bit more friendly (was not rude just could have upped her energy a little). The basics were done - checked in on us made sure we weren't waiting on anything else.
So! Hubby ordered the Sunday special which was a pint of beer and the soft pretzel with dip of choice. He asked for the Light Speed Pale Ale which he mentioned was quite nice. We shared the pretzel and requested queso as the dip. 10/10 best soft pretzel and queso we have tried at a brewery by far. There were also a couple pieces of cut up dill pickle to dip. Amazing.
Now.. I'm a bit different. I knew I was getting a craft soda but I was hoping for a miracle drink that I was ready to make myself. On their dessert menu is ice cream and within their beverage menu is the Phillips root beer. You know where I'm going this. Their bartender made it happen for me. I sat at our table sipping my root beer alcohol free drink happier than I have ever been at a brewery.
To end our drinks we shared The Dutton hot dog. Now the dog itself is fairly basic but the toppings help quite a bit! Toppings were quite yummy and the banana peppers didn't have the heat I was anticipating but it was quite a nice mix of ingredients.
We will be back for sure. Hopefully for another root beer float if they're up for it but doo wanna try their other hot dogs. I may test a few beers if I'm feeling adventurous.
Atmosphere is darker side / was a bit warm inside. But seemed very fun with some couches set up and there's also board games on shelving between couch set up's (there's 2 sets of couches / tables for games etc)
Also in the ladies washroom the stall beside the sink is very very open with a gap between the door and wall... Just something to be...
Read moreFirst of all I want to say that I have given one Google review (sorry realized 4 later) in my life and it was a very positive one. The Experience at the Hub was quite possibly the worst I have had, we were a group of 4 arriving at 6:30 PM and ordered by 6:45. We ordered 2 beef dips and 2 flatbreads, couldn’t be more simple and drinks which were slow in coming and I waited with an empty glass for some time for my second beer, but no worries it was busy. We waited until 7:30 and still no food, then I got my one Beef Dip and nothing else came. I waited 5 minutes as I didn’t want to be rude and everyone said go ahead and start, so I did. I ate, finished and then waited 15, yes 15 min more and still nothing for the rest of our party. I had already complained to our server 15 minutes earlier and informed them them that several tables that had arrived after us had gotten their food already. At this point everyone in our party is upset to say the least, as am I, so I ask to speak to a manager. The manager came up at 7:50 and made several excuses as to why our food hadn’t come rather than apologize and informs us that our food could be another 30 minutes????? I exclaimed to this individual that there is ridicules and there is beyond ridicules and this is definitely at the beyond ridicules level ( I used a different word than beyond, that google wont allow me to post). He now scolds me for swearing at him and says he won’t charge us for the food, what food? After arguing with me and the other 3 in my party he says ok, I won’t charge you because obviously you don’t want to pay, insinuating that we were trying to get something for nothing. I have never had such atrocious service, or been so insulted....
Read moreThe ambiance in this space is off the charts. What a beautiful place for a drink or dinner. I would imagine attending one of their games or trivia nights are awesome.
I ordered the margarita, and my partner ordered the Cashmere Lager. The marg caught me off guard because of the prickly pear, but it was so refreshing. The beer was good, not hoppy and very light.
We ordered the pretzel with queso. Queso was good but could have been a little spicier. The pretzel was nicely salted and may have been overcooked just a twitch because it was a bit tougher than expected.
I ordered the tacos, one of each. The pork was good but needed the hot sauce. The sweet potato was delicious and heavy on the mayo. The Korean chicken was the best. It's very wet and full of flavor.
My partner got the What's Hub Dog. Holy God. This thing was LOADED and a heck of a mess to eat, but it was worth every little bit.
We committed to the browned butter chocolate chip cookie in a pan before we were totally done with our food. Our meal was so filling we did not need it, but it was so so good. The perfect amount of ice cream for the cookie.
Would absolutely go again to try the Flatbread. Someone near us got one, and it...
