I’m honestly sad to be writing this 2-star review. I never imagined I’d have anything less than praise for Bobby’s Hideaway, especially since every past visit has been met with consistently top-notch service and quality. But today was different, and not in a good way.
This was actually my first time ordering takeout from Bobby’s Hideaway, we usually dine in and always have a great experience. The only part that felt in line with their usual hospitality was when someone kindly brought my food out to me while I waited on the patio. That small gesture was appreciated, but unfortunately, it was the high point of the entire experience.
Before placing my order, I asked specifically about the fries, whether there was a noticeable difference between ordering them separately or adding them as a side to the wings. The server assured me it would be “just a little bit less.” I took that at face value, and honestly, I’m kicking myself now for not ordering the fries on their own.
When I got home and opened the box, I was shocked. The fries looked more like a garnish than an actual side, like a handful. It didn’t even come close to what I’ve come to expect from Bobby’s, especially since I always rave about how great their fries are.
Then came the wings. The sauce was on the side, which in itself isn’t a problem, except I was never given the choice. My daughter has ordered wings here before and was always asked if she preferred them tossed or on the side. Maybe takeout is handled differently than dine-in, but that’s exactly the kind of detail a server should clarify.
Working in customer service myself, I know the importance of offering options, asking the right questions, and guiding customers through decisions, especially when those small details can completely change the experience. That just didn’t happen today, and it left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
And to top it off, when I opened the bag, I noticed the lid of the honey garlic sauce had come off. The container was warped, possibly from heat or condensation—and it was packed in a thin paper cup instead of the sturdier plastic container that the plum sauce for the chicken fingers came in. It was messy, and honestly, it felt careless.
I don’t know what’s happening. I’ve always trusted Bobby’s Hideaway to deliver, whether it’s their unforgettable fortune crust salmon or their perfectly golden fries. But today’s experience didn’t feel like them at all, and it’s disappointing to feel let down by a place I’ve trusted for so...
Read moreI came in from out of town to visit my dad. My father and family recommended it I was very happy when I showed up to pick up my order. very busy thinking I will need to wait a few
It went downhill from there. more like of a cliff
For one the price $$$$$$. expectations were high. Was my order ready to go ? I'm thinking that fast veal takes at least 15 minutes to make from placement in order to pick up. The packaging wasn't even warm ? I know that food should have been nice and warm. not be ready 7 minutes later since the place was full of people no way it was made fresh. and for that price it should.
Once I got it back to the house the food looked like it came from the reduced section of the restaurant. Most places that have veal sandwiches give you a good fresh portion. it was more like 1-1/2 the fries should have been rammed in there .but they were ok fresh wise. coleslaw was ok. But I did not know they had white pickles. Where can I get them? It was the veal, the bread was burnt and the veal was over cooked like you reheated them. It was very dry. My father lived 6 minutes away. I walked in willing to wait a couple of minutes. I was asked if we wanted hot or sweet pepper. If you are going to ask someone if they would like topping you should tell them it's an extra charge. and PUT actual Peppers not a smidgen of what the hell was that plus where's the sauce you spread it on the bun like it was butter the mushrooms are from a can Nasty! Everyone could only eat Half of what was possible to eat. We were sick all night from the heart burn. The only reason I did not return was for the fact my Dad likes your food. but he did agree this time it was not up to par for him. so if by chance we order again I will guarantee you I'm not paying until I look at the...
Read moreWe are regulars at Bobby’s, kids love this place, so we visit every few weeks. Tonight most likely it was our last visit, last time same waitress that served us today made mistakes in our order, which I understand as they were busy and who doesn’t make mistakes? But what I don’t tolerate is when someone puts words in my mouth or gives me look with attitude.
I ordered soup for starter and souvlaki for my 2nd. Somehow everything came together, which is not a big deal. When I saw French onion soup it wasn’t even close to what I am used to there, there was no liquid only soaked bread with burned and partially gone cheese on the sides, and when I dipped spoon in it, it was just soaked bread. Started with my 2nd -chicken souvlaki, which was delicious. Then Loraine came and asked how is everything, I told her that soup is just bread zero liquid, she thanked me for telling her and I believe she went to kitchen. I told her it’s ok i don’t want another one. After that she came back to us and asked how is everything else except soup? When it came to bill, my wife noticed that theres a charge there for soup, she went after her to ask about it Loraine said that I said soup is ok, my wife came back and told me that… I went to her and said that I never said soup is ok, i said that its ok i dont want another one, on that note i dont think i should be charged for it as she knew i didnt eat it. Her attitude wasnt the best when my wife asked not to be charged and to me she just said “mhm” and look at me with attitude…. She is all over a place zero concentration… it was enough to say sorry I forgot or I misunderstood you. Left place, left money for soup...
