Had fantastic service in the past and the only server who gets 100 stars is Robinson. He works hard and makes sure you are happy. This guy needs a raise. He is the only one that truly deserves it. He'll try to go over and beyond.
Tonight was different and unfortunate. I would give ZERO stars if I could, but in order to post on Google, you need to click on at least one star. Had a different server and had a HORRIBLE experience. Food took forevvvvvvver to come out, WEAK drinks and UNACCEPTABLE customer service. We met up with friends to celebrate a 50th Birthday, have a few drinks and some apps. On just our bill, we ordered 2 x 16 wings, steak bites, sprite, ice tea and 2 DOUBLE vodka sodas. Noticed our alcoholic drinks were VERY weak, there was no way they were doubles! We decided to stop drinking them and told them to just take them off our bill, we won't bother at all and the waitress took them away. She didn't say a word or apologize for the drinks (no server etiquette or customer service training). In today's society, you just never know if ordering it again, might include someone's nasty saliva. We totally were not happy, it's obvious the bartender does not know their measurements, we even asked for short glasses. A friend even spoke to the manager who said they'd take care of it. In the end, the server still billed us for 50% of the 2 drinks. I told them it should have been removed as per the manager. A different girl with a BABY in a carrier came out to further argue with us saying we drank half, so we must pay for half! I said my friend spoke to the manager. She went on to say SHE was the manger. I told her "my friend must have spoken to your mom?" I could not believe what I was hearing AND seeing. Who brings a baby out at night to work at a loud rowdy bar AND argue in their child's ears??? The poor baby's ears! Even the baby felt the tension. Is she claiming maternity leave AND working shifts under the table?! This was not even during the day. It was around midnight! What Chucks allow employees to bring their babies to work at a bar? This is definitely NO place for a baby at this time of night! It certainly does not look good. Does Chuck's Roadhouse head office know about this? Is this a new policy they allow? I've never seen mothers bringing their babies to work at any other Chucks.
Long story short, on the drive home I further examined my bill. I was so focused on the drink part that I should have looked at the whole entire bill. Not only did I pay for drinks I shouldn't have, I was billed for an extra order of 16 wings we didn't order AND an extra soda! Man, I was well beyond mad for not even catching that! On top of it all, I was forced to pay 18% gratuity which was not deserved. I ALSO noticed that the 18% "mandatory gratuity" was not even printed on the receipt for customers to view. I know other restaurants disclose it on the receipt. If the customer forgets or server forgets to tell them, the customer can EASILY be tipping MORE in error, not knowingly. This can be so deceiving. Our group will definitely NOT be coming back EVER to this location. And this group normally will spend A LOT of money at a Chuck's. So sad to leave this location because we love Robinson. I hope a good restaurant owner will offer this man a BETTER job and get the hell out of there. Tonight should have been a better Birthday celebration. I feel bad it didn't turn out so well, due to this.
Word of advice, if you ever come to this location. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. They may try to overcharge you. In fact, don't waste your time coming to this one. Go to a different location. Not worth trying it out. If there's something you're not happy about, they won't bother trying to please YOU, the customer. They don't care about you. They only care that you pay them. I am not one to ever write bad reviews unless, I feel it's worth telling the "honest to...
Read moreI was looking forward to checking out Chuck's Roadhouse (Mississauga Dundas) because it just opened and had good prices. I joined my group who was already there and sat at the table for 10 minutes without a server asking if I wanted anything to drink. I had to stand up and asked the bartender and another server where our server is. The manager said she'll be with me soon.
Eventually she came out to take my order, I ordered the Striploin + Lobster tail, medium rare. As I was waiting, she was handing out cutlery to other people at my table who ordered before me, yet failed to give me a set knowing that I will need it to eat my meal. I waited 30 minutes and finally asked the server where my food was. She went to check and said they had to "redo" it and came out 10 minutes later. The server offered me a discount for the wait, I said "thanks".
When my order finally came out, the steak was a lil undercooked for my liking, but I continue eating it until it got really bloody in the middle. The French fries were cold too. I told the server that I ordered the steak medium rare, she apologized and took it back. I told her that I don't want another one anymore and that I don't want it on my bill. The manager came over and told me that he can't take the item off my bill, the steak was done perfectly med rare, that it's supposed to be bloody and that I'm wrong. I told him that it's supposed to be pink throughout and red in the middle and that I know how I like my steaks (I have a lot of cooking experience). 3 other people in out group had their steak overcooked as well. He continue to tell me that he can't do anything about it, I said I'm not paying for this and that my experience since I've got there has been unpleasant. He gave me an ultimatum and said "do you want the replacement or not?". I said "No, I'll gladly pay for a meal that I will enjoy and that this isn't it, and this is very bad customer service".
At the end of the night, we asked for the bill, and to no surprise it took 20 minutes for the bills to come out. When the she came with the bill, the manager followed her and sat at a bar about 10 feet away from me and watching me like a hawk. There were several mistakes on a few people's bills as well. One of my friends accidentally had a pitcher added on his bill, the manager said "If you're not paying for it, someone else will!". Which was very rude, when a simple, "I'm sorry, let us fix/double check that" is generally the right answer. I looked at my bill and I was charged the full price despite being offered a discount before. I was in no mood to dispute the price because I was just in a bad mood the whole time. A few dollars isn't going to win me over.
Overall, I've never received service this bad in my life from every aspect from the food to the service from the second I got there till the minute I left. I am very easy going when it comes to eating out, coming from a hospitality and service background myself, I have never in my life not wanted to pay a bill or tip the person serving me. But there's a first for everything. You would think a place that just opened would want to treat their customers with respect. You don't get a second chance on...

Frequency of visits : My regular Watering hole. Also where I start and end my nights when I go out on the weekend.
I moved recently to the area and I come to this bar because the people who work here are real people, real stories and I always have a good conversation.
Sometimes things can get feisty. Alcohol has that effect on people and some people are suffering with other issues in life. Yet I have seen genuine care through actions from Brian towards people and customers. Going above and beyond.
This guy is one of my favorite bartenders. Period. And I have been to a lot of bars in Toronto to judge bars. He is a very direct communicator which can be taken the wrong way but we love it! It makes.. Brian.. Brian
The guy has also saved my backside from countless heated debates from people and also racists. Anyone whose a person of color and Queer person can rest easy you will be safe. Brian does not care about your politics but will step in if people get physical. Brian is the “upholder of the bar laws”.
Wherever he is Bartending, me and my friends will go there. We usually don't support Corporate Franchise usually but this guy is the reason we feel welcome.
He is compassionate towards his staff and his Closing House game is one of the best I have seen at a bar. Spotless. Whoever opens up the next morning should love to work with him.
If he isn't already, should be promoted for a management position immediately and be given a raise. A person with his demeanor and cool head can go places and handle any stressful situation.
Also this place has the most horrible bathrooms in terms of size. How is this even accessible? Please fix this...
