We had a bittersweet experience at this restaurant. On the bright side, the service was truly outstanding. Our server, Ava, was exceptional—attentive, kind, courteous, and well-versed in the menu. Her recommendations were made with confidence and warmth. Without a doubt, she was the highlight of our visit.
Unfortunately, the food fell well short of expectations. Each dish left us wanting more, with flat flavours, small portions, and lacklustre execution.
We started with the “Calamari Frito,” recommended by Ava. While it was cooked to perfection—crispy, not greasy, and nicely presented—the portion was disappointingly small: just two pieces. At the very least, three or four should be standard for a starter.
For my first course, I ordered the “Insalata Imperiale.” It was a complete letdown. Caesar dressing can be tricky to get right, and this version had no depth, no seasoning, and no character. It was a bland and forgettable salad, lacking flavour and attention.
My main course, the “Frutti di Mare,” was equally disappointing. The pasta was slightly undercooked, and the sauce was so plain that I had to add olive oil and chili just to find some flavour. The seafood—just a few shrimp and some calamari—was barely sufficient.
My wife had the “Pollo di Parmigiana,” which, sadly, lacked any trace of Parmesan flavour. The accompanying pasta was the same as mine: undercooked and completely flavourless, as if it had been prepared with no care whatsoever.
My daughter tried the “Ragù alla Bolognese,” which turned out to be the most decent dish at the table, though she rated it just 6 out of 10.
The wine list is extremely limited, with options ranging from mediocre to poor quality. As for beer, they only offer their in-house craft brew. I ordered the Pilsner, and it was a major letdown—watery, dull, and completely lacking in body or personality.
In short, while Ava’s service was excellent and deserves full recognition, the culinary offering falls far behind. It’s a shame, because the restaurant has potential—but with this level of food and drink quality, we’re...
Read moreI’m going to write a long review and it would be really appreciated if people could take the time to read this so they can avoid this place like the plague before eating here.
Let me start off by saying our server Ava was an angel and was amazing. Very attentive and sweet.
The food on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. Let me preface by saying I am greek and have travelled the world so I know what good food tastes like. My “calamari” was three pieces of an oily disaster. That I paid 20 dollars for LOL. The breading which was a crumb coat of bread crumbs slid off the flavourless rubbery squid. My martini that had ice chips floating at the top was 15 dollars and tasted like dirty olive water. Then the pizza. It was soggy, cold and the sauce was watery. I am actually so livid that I paid money for any of this food. I got the pizza taken off the bill after the clueless manager came and asked what I would like to talk about and actually brought my nasty pizza back for me to look at.. like there was no communication between him and the waitstaff. I dined here because I had a great experience here in 2018 but since then the food has become absolutely disgusting. My bill was 47 dollars with my pizza taken off for nasty calamari and a watery martini with ice chips. Avoid this place and go to Papa Giuseppe’s in Port Credit where I should have gone. Will not eat here again if you offered me a million dollars. Terrible food and...
Read moreHere is the letter I sent to the restaurant almost 2 weeks ago - I've never received any response: I just had my first visit to your restaurant a short while ago. I ordered 2 gluten-free pizzas (Verdure all Griglia) to go. When I got back to my car to open them, I saw two very unappealing pizzas. They were carelessly thrown together with big gaps in the toppings and there was no tomato sauce - which apparently doesn’t come with those pizzas. When I took a bite, it was the most tasteless restaurant pizza I’ve ever had. I went back into the restaurant to ask for some tomato sauce to put on them (we didn’t know they wouldn’t have tomato sauce and they were tasteless without it). I was told that I’d have to pay $3 to get some tomato sauce to put on them. So, let me get this straight, I paid $51 for 2 tasteless, thrown together pizzas and now you want another $3 just to get some sauce so they’d be a bit more enjoyable? I left without the tomato sauce.
While eating them, the majority of the toppings just fell on my lap or into my mouth while taking a bite. The result was that I had huge hunks of plain crust left. I’ve included some photos so you can see what my eating experience was like.
I thought I’d contact you directly before I put my comments on social media because I think it’s fair you are given the chance to respond. But, as it is, your restaurant has given me the most expensive, tasteless, unenjoyable pizza...
