Extra Extra! yes you can order extra noodles for free when you order the build your own noodle.
This is another northern China style noodle bar situated in a very small strip plaza with their anchor being Long & Mcquade. The size of the restaurant is very small and tight I estimate it's capacity to be about 25 people and there is not much room to wait. We came in around 11:45 and it was just early enough that the first round of people were finished eating and leaving so there was no wait for us. I don't think you would want to visit here with more than a group of 6.
I noticed that they also offer quite a variety of food delivery service, I saw about 3 different couriers that picked up.
The quality of their food is pretty good soup was piping hot and plentiful. We ordered the special chicken feet, house special marinated pork belly, hot pot style rice noodles with beef brisket in Szechuan pickle soup. The chicken feet is a cold dish topped with pickled veggies and you get 3 pieces of chicken feet. This dish is marinated nicely but not for everyone some might find it gross because you are chewing on a full chicken feet. The marinated pork I ordered the build your own bowl. So basically my choice of protein was the marinated pork belly, with original noodles cooked regular, regular spicy, regular numb, with extra soup, and all the toppings ( cilantro, green onions, garlic, peanuts, sesame, and sesame paste ). The pork was very tender fatty but didn't taste like it in your mouth and great tasting marinade. The noodles were perfectly chewy for what I like but the soup I think could have been more numbing and more spicy, next time I will ask for their hottest level to see if it really is spicy. The noodle refill I suggest to order slightly before you finish your bowl because they make it fresh for you and there would be a slight delay, the amount you get is another bowl basically. The hotpot style rice noodle was very big in my opinion, I think it could feed 2 people that are not too hungry and add a few dishes of appy's. This one also has an abundant of toppings besides the beef brisket like quail eggs, bamboo shoots, spam just to name a few. Caution the bowl (legit hotpot) is VERY HOT because they fire the pot and cook the noodles directly in it. I enjoyed this bowl of noodle a lot loved the taste.
The only concern I had was that they brought out my noodles and chicken feet at the same time and almost 10 minutes later my wife's hot pot noodle. We were hoping to have the appetizer first while the noodles were being made. I know they are newly opened so I am giving them a get out of jail free card this time but they need to get their timing right when bringing out the food for the table. Servers are polite and...
Read moreHey Noodles was recommended to me by a friend who had a positive experience with this location. Not only did I hold high expectations in terms of taste, but I was also informed how budget friendly this brand is. He highlighted that Hey Noodles provided free refills for noodles. After my experience, I discovered that they provide free refills as long as you are eating your own bowl. They provide a $2 refill charge if you are sharing a bowl of noodle soup with another person!
Summary of Review: Highly Recommend for spice lovers, budget friendly place (under $20 per person), accomodating staff, made-to-order comfort food.
Hey Noodles' Mississauga location is a cozy and atmospheric, the staff are as swift as they are kind in hospitality and service. They know how to communicate with a smile, making sure that everything is in accordance with your preferences. They were patient with not only me, but other tables who were visiting for the first time. The menu is big enough for a variety of creative options, but not overwhelming enough where you'd need an 'expert' to bring along. The venue is big enough to accomodate for a party of 8, however, I would recommend calling in ahead of time to see if they take reservations. Hey Noodles offers hand-held menus as opposed to their online menus that you can access via QR code, luckily they offer free wifi at the establishment!
My partner and I waited about 10 minutes before our food arrived, which surprised us! The food looked fresh, smelled amazing, and was made to order perfectly. They give you a lot of broth that's enough to last you at least one refill, which I find to be perfect and attentive to their own audience.
My specific order was the minced pork with chilli peppers, I had both rice and egg noodles (one was a refill), all the toppings on it, the spiciest level, and mild numbing. In my past experience, I went to numerous noodle soup locations, cook my own, but Hey Noodles serves these dishes in a unique way where it has become my favourite spot. My spice tolerance is high and Hey Noodles exceeded my expectations, the heat hits you right away and sticks to the noodles, you'll never catch a break from the savoury-spicy, and slightly bitter flavour bombs!
The kimchi-pork dumplings were well-served, they were crispy at the bottom and burst with flavour! I highly recommend this appetizer for those who love the potent taste of kimchi.
Checking out was seamless, they accept debit and cash.
I'm definitely coming back once I have room in my stomach. Hey Noodles opened me up to another dish I should have tried a...
Read moreThe food here is 5 Stars. Like I said before, it is not the cheapest option. But the portions and the taste/flavours/aroma will fill your stomachs and soothe your soul. My wife and I chose to eat food from here for our first meal of the new year of 2022.
BTW, I just live their online ordering APP. It is so easy to use and pre-pay etc.
Stay safe out there everyone.
I am back for some more food again. And I am very happy to report that the consistency is there. I can see that they have added some rice dishes to their menu along with some other items like dumplings.
Today I went for :
The popcorn chicken was a hit. Flavour and textures bombs go off in your mouth. The Egg Noodle dish was delightful. The noodles had a good bounced to them and perfectly cooked.
The chicken dumplings are hand made from the taste and I have tasted plenty of store / frozen dumplings. And they were awesome.
The beef brisket rice was good, but I would prefer the same beef brisket in a noodle soup version like I did the last time. But the rice combo comes with a soup and that soup was AMAZING !!!
They are getting closer to that 5 Star rating. This restaurant has been on my radar for a while. Today, I finally decided to give it a go.
You can see from my order receipt on the dishes that I ordered for pick up through their GoSnappy portal. You will get a text message informing you that your order is ready to pick up. And sure enough, my order was waiting for me on the table located at their front door. Nice and efficient. I like that.
I am impressed with the flavour of the soup stock. And the noodles were good and not overcooked. The portions were generous for the price. They are not your typical cheap noodle soup type of food.
The beef brisket was exceptional. Not chewy but tender. All in all, I was a happy camper with no complaints so far.
Please give them a try and then let us all know...
