Hello foodies, today I am bringing you an amazing Middle Eastern restaurant review, and let me tell you this place is fire!! And a must-try!! They are not capping when they say they have the “Best Shawarma Meat” this statement stands true in every sense, after trying their food just incredible, I was highly impressed to say the least.
There are located in a plaza on Burnhamthorpe Rd and Mavis Rd with plenty of parking, you can’t miss this place they are in a unique-looking building with a red roof and a medium-sized patio for outside or dine-in options, and of course, they do takeout. They seem to be fairly busy, I was there at 1 pm and there were about 10 people including skip The Dishes drivers waiting for their orders. So it might be a good idea to call in your orders and then pick up. The menu is quite extensive with very authentic middle eastern delicacies, such as roasted Mandi Chicken, wraps with lamb and chicken options, with lamb and chicken sandwiches that look just amazing, and all their options for dinner plates. These guys have a very extensive list of options if you’re looking for a full plate for dinner or lunch, I have not seen this many options and varieties of mouthwatering options at any other Middle Eastern restaurant unless it was more of an eat-in restaurant.
The Rotisserie meat is pretty amazing just like the authentic middle eastern style and the best part is its cut fresh from the rotisserie in front of you and not re-heated on a hot plate or sitting there drying out like 90% of your typical shawarma places do it, That’s why the meat is top notch and the best as they claim and level way above the rest.
Food 5/5 OMG I got there Quas bread with Lamb and all I have to say is it was FIRE!! Just the best-tasting lamb I have ever had by a mile period!! It was thin cut large pieces right off the rotisserie, it was so moist and juicy and flavorful, a very generous stuffed portion of succulent lamb.
I give them credit for the quality and prep on this lamb meat just amazing and a must-try. The Quas bread is a pita pocket style bread about the thickness of Greek pita bread really nice soft, filled with your choice of fresh veggies and then the lamb on top, I opted for tomatoes onions, and parsley with some garlic white sauce and it was divine, I am already planning my trip back for more of their food because it really is that good guys, so many levels above the other Shawarma takeout joints in the city no comparison.
Service 4/5 was acceptable level but could use a more customer service friendly approach, considering they were very busy when I was there they expedited my order through in no more than 10 minutes or less.
Guys and Gals you have to try this place out, you have no idea what amazing food you are missing out if you don’t, especially if you are a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine. Stop in and try their lamb you will...
Read moreI pulled up to Original Shawarma today 45 minutes before they opened? Why? Not because I had nothing else to do, but because when it’s shawarma day, I only want it from one place and that’s the absolute best shawarma in the GTA. I’ve tried virtually every shawarma joint from Scarborough to Oakville and North to Bradford. Nothing compares. The chicken, beef, lamb and all their protein is so exceptionally well seasoned, marinated, prepared and presented. They have by far the best quality. The veggies are always fresh and crisp and they don’t cheap out on portions for any dish or wrap. I’m a shawarma addict, and need to have it at least once a week. Often, I have it 2-3 times a week and I only go to Original. I’m from Ottawa, where shawarma is king. Original is right there and in some ways even better. You won’t find some runny bottled garlic drizzle on your sandwich’s and platters. They only serve the real deal garlic sauce like you find in Burj Hamoud (those who know, know). Exceptional quality, exceptional service and exceptional experience. From the guys making the food who are always smiling and looking like they’re loving life to the sweet and amazing ladies at the front, always more than worth it. Very reasonably priced, great portions and the best shawarma in the GTA. I’m not paid for this review, and I don’t even know them. I’m simply reviewing honestly and factually. I’ve got over 110,000 views for my reviews, so I always keep it real and honest. You want shawarma, go to Original. I was there today, Monday June 17 and you’ll see me there again in a couple of days. Thanks folks...
Read moreYou can’t trust anyone from this place. Don’t get me wrong, the food is safe, but the people are irresponsible. I asked one of their owners a day before if I can get 4 family chicken meals done at 12:00 P.M. for a corporate event. I didn’t ask them to open earlier, I just asked to get it done right after they open since they prepare the shawarma an hour before 12:00 P.M. anyway. The owner promised me it will be done, and I paid the day before, it even says pick up at 12:00 on the receipt. The second day I went there to pick it up, not only it’s not done, they haven’t even started making the order yet. The reason they gave me was the chefs didn’t get any notice about the order. So basically they treated their promise like nothing, and threw my trust in them right into the garbage can. The order was 20 minutes late in the end, and the executives and clients had to wait 20 more minutes for foods. What could’ve been a great food option turned me into a joke in front of my boss. The main chef gave me 10 cans of coke, and reminded me those are free. That’s almost an insult since 12 cans of pop costs less than 8 bucks and that’s how much they think my trust worths. If it was any other reason the order got delayed, for example, the chef is sick or the stove didn’t work, I wouldn’t be mad. But it got delayed literally because nobody gave a damn about the prepaid order and the promise the owner made. All I have left now is pure disappointment in this restaurant. If you ever want to order LARGE quantity for catering, party, or a corporate event, avoid these people! Just go somewhere else that’s...
