Walking into Jabal isn’t just stepping into a coffeehouse — it’s stepping into another world. From the moment the door swings open, you’re swept into a portal of rich Yemeni tradition, warmth, and sheer elegance that feels like a well-kept secret whispered among those who know what real coffee culture is supposed to be.
The atmosphere at Jabal is truly out of this world. The moment you enter, you're enveloped in an opulence that’s hard to describe — the interiors are an intoxicating blend of light earth tones and warm golds, reminiscent of ancient palaces but with a modern twist. Plush seating, intricately carved wooden décor, and soft lantern lighting transport you to the heart of Yemen’s heritage. Every detail, from the handpicked color schemes to the textures of the fabrics, speaks of care and authenticity. You don't just sit down at Jabal — you settle into a piece of culture.
And then there are the drinks — especially their matcha, which deserves a spotlight all on its own. Jabal has taken matcha to a completely different level. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill powder-in-water blend. No, their matcha is ceremonial in quality, bright and vibrant in color, smooth in taste, and thoughtfully layered with creative twists that never overpower its essence. Whether it’s customized with Yemeni spices, floral infusions, or delicately sweetened to your liking, each cup is handcrafted with the finesse of an artist. The creativity behind their offerings shows a rare dedication to both tradition and innovation.
Other drinks on the menu — from rich, spiced Yemeni lattes to iced creations with housemade syrups — are equally memorable, making it clear that quality is a non-negotiable standard here.
Jabal is not just a coffeehouse; it’s an experience. A luxurious, sensory-rich escape that feels like being welcomed into a beautiful, faraway home. You can close your eyes and feel as though you’re seated in a courtyard in Sana’a, sipping something warm and soulful as life moves gently around you. Every visit is a journey — one you’ll want to return to,...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of Jabal Coffee Shop since it opened, and I’ve visited five times already because I genuinely love the atmosphere and the quality of their drinks. However, my most recent visit (March 20th) left me extremely disappointed, and I feel obliged to share my experience.
Today, I ordered a coffee and specifically requested “No Ice, please!” due to a sore throat. When I received my order, I was surprised to see that the cup was only filled two-thirds of the way. For a $13 drink, this was unacceptable. I politely asked the staff about it, and the lady explained that she had to follow a specific recipe. To de-escalate the situation, I suggested adding few ice cubes to the cup. She took the drink back and returned five minutes later, but to my concern, the cup was now mostly filled with ice, meaning the actual amount of coffee was even less than before.
This experience was frustrating, especially considering that other coffee chains like Tim Hortons and Starbucks always fill the cup to the top when I request no ice. It makes me wonder why Jabal couldn’t do the same. I understand following recipes, but when a customer pays $13 for a drink, they should receive a full cup, regardless of whether ice is added or not.
I truly hope the owner takes this feedback seriously. Jabal is always busy, and it’s clear you’re doing well, but cutting corners on a $13 drink is not the way to maintain customer loyalty.
I still love Jabal and want to see it succeed, but this issue needs to be addressed. Thank you for your attention, and I hope to see improvements...
Read moreCoffee lovers rejoice! .. finally, a spot that has it all under one roof. The ambiance, the service, the presentation, the style .. and the excellent coffee ofcourse.
There are several commendable things about Jabal, but one thing that really hits the spot is the cappuccino, done right .. in ceramic cups, the way it should be done! Oh! and the iced drinks served in proper glassware, bonus!
The place is spacious and inviting. The interior design is lit! .. the meeting room idea is next level. Someone give the designer a pat on the back, or perhaps better yet, a standing ovation. Love the mini usb lamps as well. The attention on detail is immaculate.
Next, the service. This I will surely spotlight. Now there are several places to grab a coffee, but one where staff greets you with a smile is extra special, and deserves to be your go to spot for coffee cravings. Keep it up! Definitely makes the place more warm and welcoming.
Lastly, most importantly, the coffee. Omph! The variety is just perfect, not too much to be overwhelmed, and not too little to be too simple. There are several options for hot or cold drinks, as well as specialty drinks and delicious desserts.
The Adini is the signature favorite. Cappuccino is right at the top of the list of recommendations as well. If feeling for a bit cooler, go with the Iced Pistachio Latte, Iced Pumpkin Latte or a spiced Iced Jabal Latte (see pics).
Can't wait to go back and try some of the other items, especially those cake slices....
