WARNING - RACIST ESTABLISHMENT

I am born and raised in Mississauga, happy to say racism has never really been a factor in my life growing up in such a multicultural community. Disappointing to say that my worst experience with racism in Canada was actually at the hands of another minority, and my fellow Muslims too. This sweet shop is beautifully arranged and has amazing variety. Unfortunately the bitterness of the service overpowered the sweetness of their desserts. When I arrived, the woman working was serving a younger Arab male. She was smiling and laughing with him, being so friendly and warm. The moment he left and it was my turn, her entire expression, tone and mood changed completely. She was very short with me, saying "i'll give you assortment" and proceeded to pick random pieces. I protested and said I would like to choose- and she got so annoyed! Isn't it normal to choose your selection for Baklava?? The difference in her service between the last customer and me was so apparent, and given she didn't know anything about me except I was the only non-Arab in the store made her racism very obvious.

Please, my fellow South Asians - I urge you to not go here. They are deeply racist towards us, do not give them...

I had a really bad experience with the customer service here.I went to get some sweets today. This is my second time going there.I was told to wait few min without any explanation by one sales girl while the other sales girl was serving other costumer. I waited while 1 other costumer walked in. They served them first. They had a bigger order for the same sweets. They got their sweets first. But, we were asked to wait an extra 15 minutes. The customer that came after us were the same culture and spoke the same language as the sales girls. I asked the sales girl why I had to wait more than the other customers. She said that we could not get the fresh batch of desserts . There was a huge batch of dessert in front of us and there was only me and the other customer. The other costumer and sales girl were laughing and giggling at the register. I ended up taking the leftover batch of the dessert. I don't understand why we were not served first and being treated differently just because we did not speak the language or share the same culture. I left the store extremely upset and I am never coming back for being racialized. This is Canada, a multicultural country and it's very upsetting to be...
