As Syrians living in Mississauga, we’ve been searching for truly authentic Syrian food for years — and we finally found it at Lakaif.

I don't usually leave reviews but this place deserves them.

The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm atmosphere that instantly feels like home. The staff are incredibly welcoming and treat you like family.

We started with classic appetizers: hummus, baba ghanoush, fatteh, and tabbouleh. Everything was fresh and full of flavor — but the fatteh? That’s where Lakaif brought tears to our eyes.

If you’re Syrian, you know the sound I’m talking about: the hot, bubbling ghee being poured over the fatteh right at your table. That sizzle, that aroma — it’s not just food. It’s home. It’s childhood. It’s Friday mornings with family. And no one outside our culture can truly understand how powerful and comforting that moment is.

For the main course, I had the Beef Flame Strips — perfectly marinated and cooked to juicy perfection. Every bite was better than the last.

The service was just as amazing as the food — our server knew the menu inside out and shared the background behind the dishes with so much pride.

Lakaif isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a piece of the Middle East, right here in Mississauga. We’ll definitely be coming back — again and...

I came in hungry… I left obsessed. The flavors hit deep — like they’ve been simmering in soul. Grilled to perfection, seasoned with attitude, and served with a side of “you’re never going to forget this.”

And let’s talk about that signature dish? One bite and I swear I had to close my eyes. It didn’t just taste good. It felt like a memory I didn’t know I needed.

I just tried La Khaif, which recently opened, and I was really impressed. The food was excellent. I only got a photo of the cheese man’oushe because everything else looked too good to wait. The Nashville chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and the crispy fries were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The cheese man’oushe was warm, cheesy, and really satisfying. The prices are surprisingly affordable for the quality you get, which made the whole experience even better. What stood out the most, though, was the atmosphere. The place has a great vibe, and everyone working there was incredibly kind and welcoming. You can tell they care about what they do.
