I want to start by saying that my experience to Donnys this evening (August 15th @2am) was the best service I've had thus far and I've been coming to this location for years. Food is hot, fresh and perfect! I requested to have icecream instead of drinks with my two meals and I wasn't met with any hesitation or "we can't", the person taking my order was helpful, clear and friendly. The person who put my order together made sure it was hot, fresh and exactly as I requested. The person who took the payment/handed the order was very friendly, fast and made sure there when I asked for extra sauces in the bag that they actually gave me extra sauce and not 1 extra of each. By far the best experience I've had here. Now the reason I've given 3 stars is for all the other visits. This visit is how it should ALWAYS be. Often time I have to go back in to the store or back through because something has been forgotten or the food is cold or the order is wrong. I have asked for vanilla icecream in either the large pop cups or large McCurry cups and have been told "can't do that" even after stating I would pay for the equivalent (4 vanilla cones/4 hot fudge sundaes etc) and I can't figure out why? I've had plenty of times when this request has been granted, sometimes the price varies however that's fine as I shouldn't be charged for just 1 vanilla cone or sundae, what bothers me is that a lot of the times I'm told it's not possible and that makes absolutely zero sense. I have been glared at/sighed at or straight up "noped" when I've asked for 6 sweet and sour/honey/mayo even with multiple meals/items. I have been rushed out of the drive thru when quickly checking my bag so I've made a habit of pulling forward to those parking spots on the side for customers who are asked to wait and I've started checking there and often have to go back around because something is missing or wrong and wait between 5-10 minutes if it's a busy night. I am happy to see lots of young folk working here and they absolutely deserve respect even when they make mistakes (everyone does) but it does get really frustrating when these issues happen more often than not and I have to spend time getting it corrected and by the time it is most of my meal is cold/melted and we all know Donnys is only good hot/fresh and how quickly it goes cold. I'm hoping the experience I had tonight becomes the new norm and that I don't have to spend time anymore getting my order corrected only to make it home...
Read moreI often come to this MacDonald's and I generally find it to be a good location. However, today's experience could have been much better. I placed my order using the self service kiosk. As usual, I saw that my order number appeared on the front screen in the column identifying orders that were being prepared. However, 5 seconds later my order appeared in the column showing orders that were being served. It was impossible that my order could actually be ready in that short a time. I was about to approach the pick up desk when my order number disappeared completely. I waited a couple of minutes and explained the issue to a woman behind the counter (she was wearing a yellow safety vest, so I assumed she also ran orders out to people waiting in cars). She told me that it meant that order was being prepared. (Really???) I told her my order number had disappeared completely but she insisted that it was being worked on. (I got the sense that she was being dismissive.) So I waited and watched several customers come after me and walk away with their food. After a while I re-approached the counter and spoke to someone else. She was much more helpful and said she would look into it and prepare my order immediately. Within a couple of minutes I had my order.
Unfortunately, there were more problems. When I went to fill my beverage cups at the self-service dispensers, I discovered that the machine had run out of ice. Also, there were no medium cup lids. The area was actually a big mess with spilled soda and straws and cup lids strewn all over the counter. (See attached photo) I went back to the pick counter to explain the problem and was given medium lids and a cup of ice. Later when I went back to the self service area, I discovered that there were no napkins and no ketchup cups. So again, I went back to the pick up counter and was given what I needed. I again explained that the area was still missing items and that there was still a big mess.
Later when I checked on my grandkids in the playroom I saw overflowing trash bins with garbage and spilled pop on the floor. (See attached photo).
In McDonald's defence I have to say that the restaurant was very busy and that obviously the mess was the result of careless or sloppy customers. However, I believe it's the manager's responsibility to take care of these things. We bought coffee carafe along with iced coffee on two separate occasions from McDonald's at 6410 Millcreek Dr, Mississauga, ON L5N 3E7 through UberEats for our office.
One order on January 5, 2018 Order #756D9 One order on January 15, 2018 Order #583A7
All four iced coffee from order #583A7 was not made correctly as McDonald's staff forgot to add syrup when we specifically ordered regular iced coffee.
For both orders, McDonald's failed to include the advertised cups. Because we just moved into the new office we don't have cups yet. So we were not able to consume the coffee.
We contacted UberEats, McDonald's resend the cups for the Jan 5 order #756D9, but we had to purchase another item in order to have them delivered, by the time we got the cups it was already 2 hours after the coffee carafe was delivered.
For the Jan 15 order #583A7 we contacted UberEats again immediately after the coffee carafe was delivered. This time they did not respond to our inquiry and now we have a coffee carafe full, untouched, and cold because we are not able to consume it without cups.
This type of customer service is not acceptable as when we visit the restaurant to purchase coffee carafe we were always provided cups as advertised. On 2 consecutive orders with UberEats the cups were not included. It's either the Uber drivers intentionally steal the coffee cups (because they have stickers on them) or McDonald's somehow always forget to include the cups for UberEats orders.
Either way, purchasing coffee carafe from this specific McDonald's through UberEats has resulted in extreme frustration and disappointment. What were we supposed to do with the coffee carafe without cups?
We contacted McDonalds using the form online. The store called back early February, apologized, and offered free meal/drink coupons to be mailed to our office at 2121 Argentia Road Unit 202, Mississauga, Ontario
We never received anything to this date (March 2, 2018)
On Feburary 1, 2018 We ordered 2x large Iced coffee (Cold) (order #EFAB7) and they delivered 2x larged regular coffee (Hot) instead.
