My partner, our friend/trainer, and I went to Montana’s in Argentia for lunch after a long day of public access training with my service dog, and we had such a positive experience from start to finish.
We were warmly greeted by a lovely hostess and our server, Maya (I believe that was her name), who was incredibly kind and respectful. We were seated quickly and with care. One thing that stood out to us was how Maya made sure not to make eye contact with or speak to my service dog while serving us—something we deeply appreciate. Too often people ignore that he’s working and just want to interact with a “cute dog,” but Maya clearly understood and respected his role.
Later, as we walked by who we believe was one of the managers, she was equally wonderful—kind, excited to see him, and very respectful. She asked if she could speak to or look at him, and made sure to engage appropriately. She even commented that she hadn’t realized he was in the restaurant until that moment, which is exactly what we aim for in public access training!
The staff’s professionalism, kindness, and clear understanding of service dog etiquette made our visit a great one. We left feeling valued and respected—something that isn’t always guaranteed when out with a working dog.

Read moreVery disappointed with my first time ever...lady at bar charged me 40 bucks to my card... my bill was 18... she made a simple mistake ... happens all the time in service industry... when she got the manager .. she was very rude and standoff ish .. said that it was debit visa nothing she can do... but give me the difference in cad...if it wasn't for the fact that the bartender was a decent person and apologize (hungry as well) to cut confusion for everyone I just accepted the terms.. mind you the hospitality here sucks.. yeah I might be from a different country but hearing your comments (rude)towards me under your breath like I don't have ears is definitely understand professional. . You guys made the huge mistake...not only that but instead of getting it right my food got cold during this whOle ordeal..didn't try any standard managerial skills ...food comps appetizers nothing. but me being passive , I got the refund for the amount...(cash)..paid for it and still left a tip because I've worked service industry as well...... burger tastes like frozen beef pattys... no freshness.. if it wasn't for the mountain of BBQ I put on it....all in all my first experience sucked you did not deserve my hard earned money....may give it another shot... just no time soon left bad...
