The Gold Standard of Service: Jatin is Simply Unmatched

Jatin isn’t just a server—he’s a symphony of hospitality, a masterclass in grace, and a walking, talking reminder of what truly exceptional service looks like. Dining under his care didn’t feel like just a meal. It felt like an experience tailor-made for us—personal, warm, elevated, and downright magical.

From the moment we walked in, Jatin radiated a level of professionalism that immediately put us at ease. He welcomed us like honored guests into his home, not just patrons at a table. Every word he spoke carried warmth. Every action he took felt intentional. This wasn’t surface-level politeness. This was real, heartfelt hospitality—the kind that can’t be faked.

Let’s talk details: • He greeted us by name and remembered it throughout the night. • He picked up on small cues—what we were craving, our mood, even our sense of humor—and adapted to it perfectly. • He painted a picture with every menu item, turning food descriptions into mouthwatering stories. • He made substitutions feel like upgrades, not compromises. • He made sure the pacing of our meal was flawless—not rushed, not delayed. Just right.

Every interaction with Jatin felt like a reminder that we were being taken care of by someone who genuinely loves what he does. He wasn’t just delivering plates. He was curating a mood, enhancing the evening, and going out of his way to make sure we walked out feeling better than when we arrived.

And when a minor issue came up (as it always can), Jatin handled it before we even had to mention it. Fast, smooth, professional. Problem solved, no stress added. That’s not just service—it’s foresight, emotional intelligence, and pride in the guest experience.

By the time dessert came (on the house—thanks to his incredible thoughtfulness), we were already joking that Jatin should teach a course on how to be the perfect server. Honestly, I’d enroll.

Jatin sets a gold standard that few in the hospitality world ever reach. If every restaurant had a Jatin, five-star ratings would be the norm, and dining out would always feel like a celebration.

My family and I decided to go to Montana's to celebrate my mom's birthday. We picked Montana's because we used to go quite often when we were younger, and thought it would be a fun "flashback" type of moment for her.

Once we got seated, we weren't greeted by our server until 10 - 15 minutes afterwards. He introduced himself and immediately left, without taking our drink orders, to greet other tables. After another 20 minutes of waiting, he finally came back and we were ready to order. However, in the middle of ordering, he left to go to another table to have a quick chat. Although he came back quickly, I thought it was rude and unprofessional as he left during the middle of us ordering our meals.

Once our order was placed, it took quite a while for our food to arrive. When it did arrive, the food wasn't even warm. It was room temperature at best. We sent back the Kapow! Shrimp and the Chicken Nachos to be reheated, but that took a long time to return to the table as well.

I wanted to send back the Four Cheese Spinach Dip and the Pitmaster's Combo back as well, but I didn't want to wait any longer for the food to return back to the table.

We eventually finished eating the two dishes that we had at the table, and the other two starters arrived 10 minutes after we finished the original dishes.

After finishing all four meals, we asked for the receipt and the machine to pay for the meal, which also didn't arrive until 15-20 minutes afterwards.

We were hoping to take a picture of my mom with the Montana's birthday hat, but didn't want to wait another 40 minutes for it and just left immediately after paying.

Overall, my experience at Montana's wasn't the greatest. I'm not certain if it was because they were busy or understaffed, but it seemed as though other tables had a better time than us. You might experience something different when you go there, but I'm hoping this review will help with what to expect if you do enter this establishment.

What we ordered: The Pitmaster's Combo, Kapow! Shrimp, Four Cheese Spinach Dip, and Chicken Nachos

What time we dined: 6 pm on a Saturday Side note: Although we entered Montana's at 6 pm, which was quite busy, it did eventually die down and we thought we would receive better service after the rush was over....

I typically never leave reviews unless it was an exceptional experience, and this was an exceptionally poor experience.

The hostess at the front of the restaurant was very pleasant, helpful and friendly, and atmosphere is as expected at a Montana's, but that is where the compliments end. Our server can be summed up as very slow and inattentive.

After being seated it was probably 15 minutes before our server even introduced himself very briefly and immediately left to attend to another table. I can understand it may have been busy and it was another 20 minutes before he returned to take our order, but while we were mid sentence placing our order, he just turned around and walked to another adjacent table to have a quick chat with them, which is a bit rude.

The drinks took a very long time to come out, and even though we asked for water for everyone, he confusingly returned with a single cup of water (????).

We ordered 3 apps and a large sharable entree, and our server forgot to get provide us with plates and a sufficient number of utensils for all of us.

When the food eventually came out, 2 of the 4 things we ordered were room temperature at best (shrimp and nachos). We asked they could be reheated, but little did we know we wouldn't see them for another half hour, basically after we finished the remainder of the food.

Service was incredibly slow for very simple requests. One of us ordered a hot tea, and requested some additional hot water, but we wouldn't get that cup of hot water for another 20-30 minutes. Even when asking for the bill and meal, that took another 20-30 minutes before we could pay and leave.

Consistently, almost every request we made to our server had to be asked of again with the hostess, and more often than not, the hostess was the one to fulfill our requests.

I can understand if it was exceptionally busy, but even towards the end of the our visit, tables were clearing out and the service remained just as slow.

By the end of it, we just wanted to pay and leave, but it took two requests for the bill and 45 minutes before we could pay and leave. We intended to have a dessert, but based on the track record, didn't want to stay an extra 40 minutes for some cakes.

I used to come here often with my spouse and kids. We would come for birthdays or anniversaries. Recently came to have dinner after not being here for a few months, maybe 6 to 8, and not only was my spouse not pleased with with food but neither was the kids and that is not normal. We got the kapow shrimp which has always been my husbands go to appetizer never anything else but that and that was not appealing at all. There was a very white sauce all over it and it was super crispy as if it was over done. Not the flavour we have been getting. Then he also got the southern chicken with gravy and mash. The gravy was yellowish and very thick as if it was sitting there for to long or there was to much starch in it. The potatoes had a lot of potato peels in it and was throwing off the whole texture and taste. My son made it simple with chicken strips and fries and he only ate the fries because the chicken strips were dry and far too crispy. My daughter had ribs which she only ate half as it was to gummy/ chewy. My meal was at least on the ok side just not spicy like it was supposed to be. My husband said he has noticed in the last year or so that this location has been going “down hill” flavour and presentation wise. I always fought with this and try to make assumptions of maybe it’s an off day but it’s come to the point when the last few times being here have always been off days it’s hard to defend it. I’m not going to assume but it almost feels like something has changed. Even the staff has changed a bit where not everyone is smiling anymore. The manager looked angry when we went as she served us our drink. She walked around looking annoyed looking at people who were eating as if she was angry at something. If she was it showed a lot. The only Staff who showed kindness was our server and the two ladies at the front who seated us. Im not sure what’s happening at this location but I know I’m not the only one noticing a big change is food and atmosphere.

Updated after visit on 7 Sep- You have excellent servers and today we had Jatin serving us, fabulous. Always with a smile and quick with the check ins. You people deliver on the Ribs ( Yummmmm) and the Antojitos were amazing. So gooey and comforting. ----- The Ribfest is Terrific !! Visited the Montana restaurant today for the first time and was quickly shown to our seats by the cheerful host. Service - Our server was ZACH.. Absolutely a delightful guy. He was so polite and quick with the order all with a happy disposition. Even when he was delayed for a drink order, he profusely apologised. Where do you see such behaviour nowadays?? One of the best servers ever. Ambience - The ambiance truly reminds of the Steak houses of Mid west USA. Very cozy and comfortable seating with lots of television around. They have a great booth seating arrangement and ample amount of space. Food - Delicious! Ordered the Wings and Rib combo . Ribs had the Honey garlic sauce, extremely tasty. The wings were with a hot sauce and yummy. The best part was the sides were delicious too - Well seasoned fries, soft cornbread. This may have been my first time but I would come back for the ribs and the Iced tea.
