Went in today and asked for 4 Manakish as they were advertising it. Was told by the staff that I have the wrong store. I doubted myself and thought I was mistaken. I went back out and took another look at the sign. Sure enough, Manakish is being advertised as "dropped." I go back in and ask them again, "are you sure, you have a huge sign advertising it. No one has come is asking for $3 Manakish?" They ask me to wait as they call the owner. Another emoloyee shows up as I stand by their door, pointing out to their sign. "I dont see it," the second employee says. After a few minutes the original employee returns and says "so you just want one?" I felt so dumb. I just said forget and walked out. What were they going to serve me if they clearly have never heard of it? I'm a long time resident, I had heard this place was under new management. My fault for trying again. There's got to be a regulation for these shawarma places. How do you as a franchise owner not know of a promotion from your own company? The insane customer service I received...where a simple apology would have worked, I was made to look stupid instead and sent packing. If you don't need to get shawarma from this area then don't.

**UPDATE: Bassam, the store owner, is a real one. Both he and someone from head office reached out to me immediately after hearing about my poor experience, wanting to make things right. And they did. I appreciate how quickly they responded and how sincerely apologetic they were. To me, that proves they care about the customer, the business and the quality of food they put out there. I never thought I would return here, but after meeting Bassam, I look forward to returning and supporting his business once more.** Just had the worst shawarma of my life here. Stopped after work for a simple chicken and rice box. Box was filled maybe 1/4 of the way and most of the rice was hard. Cost me $14 for this garbage. Hate to leave this review because, generally, this location makes a decent shawarma. In fact, my last shawarma here was great and actually had me craving to come back. Their chicken never has those fat, gristly pieces that other chains do. Sadly, I don't see myself returning after this experience.

2022/11/14: poutine wasn’t ready when I went to pick it up. Super heavy on the sauces which makes the entire poutine soggy. 2022/11/01 Update: I ordered a poutine and falafel and when the app said the order was ready I went to the store and only the poutine was prepared. I had to wait 10 minutes for the falafel to be prepared and watched in-store customers leave with their falafel before me despite my having placed an order earlier. Wasted my lunch break waiting for food. Mobile orders should be prioritized better. The pita land app is inaccurate- it tells you the food is ready for pick up but when I get there the food is never ready and is still being prepared. This is the third time this has happened. The staff are polite and friendly. The app should be fixed - it’s frustrating to waste a lunch break waiting for food to be prepared when the point of the app is to avoid the wait. Overall food is good.

  • How can you reply and Claim that it was explained to me/us during our visit when no one bothered to address or talk to us nor even approach us, plus how you are saying it’s fresh when it was dry tough and sitting on the grill already cut…* FYI nothing was explained nor resolved as no one spoke to us, are you mixing up with another customer? this even makes us more not interested and deterred more…and no interested in even contacting you. I would have expected better honest answer.** We went for lunch as we saw an advertisement on the board located on the street for chicken shawarma plate, the photo looked good and inviting. When we got to the place and we ordered, the employee cut some shawarma from the skewer and placed on the grill. When she started asking what we want for side dishes and to pick our choices to create a salad (haha pathetic salad) she wasn’t even listening carefully to what we picked and she started to pile everything on top of the rice and salad in a take out containers when the advertisement was showing a plate. We were frustrated with how she did it and even the sauces are all over mixed. It looked like a pile of **. We ended up paying and sat to eat and guess what, the chicken shawarma was cold, dry, some pieces tough and the meal wasn’t that great. The taste is lost in the pile and we realized that she cut small portion from the skewer and mixed it on the grill with some already cut shawarma that was sitting on the grill for god knows how long or how old it was…. We both were mad and didn’t really enjoy our meal and left. The server/staff herself was confused and lost but to serve dry old shawarma mixing it with shawarma already on the grill and cold even the rice was a bit dry, technically not fresh meal, it was not inviting or tasty and hard to chew and or enjoy. So sadly our experience was awful and pathetic, we regret going to this place again and we thought a new owner would be better, but sadly no. We Don’t recommend this place and it’s a waste of your money. Sadly being upset never...

Honestly, I’m conflicted cuz the shawarma is really good and the owner is very nice but apparently they have changed their policy where you can not make any modifications to the contents of your chicken saj wrap? I’ve never heard of a shawarma spot that doesn’t let you customize your toppings. I like to add peppers to my shawarma so it was very surprising to hear that you can no longer add any toppings but only remove them. If I’m paying over $20 for a wrap and drinks, you can toss a few jalapeños and banana peppers on my wrap, it’s not a big deal…I’m already paying a premium…

Due to an overabundance of shawarma joints in the area, I would recommend just going to another shawarma shop that allows you to customize your order if you like it a specific way. But if you’re okay with just pickles and lettuce, then the shawarma is still very good.

I am disappointed in this decision and will not be returning to this store until they change their policy.

Shoutout the owner though, he’s great and a very...
