A burger is something I will order at every new restaurant I visit. It's the measure by which I compare the quality and creativity of the kitchen. Burgers are also my absolute favorite food. It's a classic staple that has limitless potential for originality. I tried Rosie's for the first time yesterday on my way home from work. Their menu is very small. It tells me the people running this place has a great deal of confidence in it core offerings. There are 3 options for burgers: single, double, or beyond which is their vegetarian offering. Other than that there is a small list of sides, like fries and poutine, and a selection of house made shakes and floats. Pricing is very simple and affordable, especially compared to the quality of product. For my first visit I ordered a double with fries and a can of coke. Rosie's burgers are of the "smashed" variety. If you are unfamiliar with this method, it's when the burger meat comes in the form of a ball and is smashed flat on the griddle. This increases the surface area of the meat, and gives the patty a beautiful caramelized crust on the outside. All their burgers come pre-topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles and an unbelievably good house sauce. A golden potato bun is the chosen method of delivery. The rest is almost impossible to articulate. The burger was absolutely melt in my mouth good. The patty was cooked perfectly moist in the middle, with the most savory crust on the outside. Each bite was consistently perfect leaving me groaning with anticipation for the next. The house sauce was lovingly applied in perfect proportion to the rest of the toppings, adding a perfect harmony to the chorus of the burger. The fries served alongside were the perfect companion. They were golden, perfectly crispy, fluffy on the inside and lightly seasoned. After telling my wife about this place she insisted she wanted to try it so I went back again today. I had a chance to try the poutine and it too was incredible. I was surprised to see that it was a traditional poutine made with what looked to me like chicken gravy, and fresh cheese curds. It was so good my wife made a wierd purring noise I had never heard before. It was terrifying. The last thing I'll touch on was the staff. Super nice guys running the front of house and the kitchen. They took my order and had us wait outside for social distancing sake. When everything was ready they brought it out to me. Super simple. I'm already excited at the prospect of my next visit so that I can get my hands on one of those milk shakes. Really great work guys. Please don't franchise and stay just the...
Read morerosie's is a little hidden (not very hidden anymore due to the well deserved hype it has gotten) gem by the lakeshore main street and is a true delight for anyone seeking authentic smash burger goodness. parking might seem tricky at first, but don't worry - there are several spots available behind the restaurant.
walking in, you might think the place is tiny, and honestly, it is. but the cozy seating bar with stools offers the perfect spot to enjoy your meal. what struck me most was how clean and bright everything felt - large windows let in beautiful natural light that outshines the interior lighting. the decor transported me straight back to the 90s with its classic red and white striped theme, capturing that nostalgic neighborhood burger joint essence.
the service here deserves special mention. the person working both the cash register and the grill was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. our orders were taken quickly and efficiently, with our food arriving in just 5-10 minutes - impressive for made-to-order burgers!
now for the star of the show - the burgers. these might be some of the best smash burgers we've found in mississauga so far. what really stands out is how the high-quality meat does the heavy lifting flavor-wise, rather than being overwhelmed by sauce. the cheese complements the beef perfectly, and everything tastes remarkably fresh and well-crafted without any greasy aftertaste.
we tried the rosie ($12.50) and the party burger ($12.25), with the main difference being the veggies and onions. both were absolutely delicious in their own right. if you're extra hungry, you can add $7 to make it a combo.
i'm already planning my next visit to try their chicken sandwiches. if they're anywhere near as good as the burgers, i know i'm in for another...
Read moreMust have gone on a bad day, that burger was so greasy I still tasted the grease like an hour later no flavor no taste to the Burger whatsoever no seasoning, special sauce was bland like I say the burger had no no flavor and no taste I mean the shrinkage from when they started cooking it to what you got was like 50% grease. I classify it as a $2 burger for 14 bucks the cheese was no name. This was a huge disappointment this place should not and probably will not be around for long seems that they're taking advantage of customers who don't know any better but really no no condiments whatsoever lettuce tomato and pickle that's your choice of condiments oh yeah and the extra sauce and cheese I'm so so disappointed beware watch out for the grease the bun absorbed most of it and like I say so disappointing how can you make a burger that doesn't take that has no taste and no flavor ask Rosie I think the place is a rip off overrated the fries didn't look that great so I passed on them and I didn't want to trust their shakes so I got a can of pop instead. During lunch on Thursday there was no lineup no one inside ordering I should have taken my cue from there but this place will not last long. I should have gone to one of the other places that we're serving Burger The works or the priest, better value for your dollar. Sorry Rosie just being honest and telling you how I feel your burgers are tasteless and greasy your fries look unappealing and lucky to give you one star. Good luck and selling your grease, this is not the best burger place in Mississauga I believe it's one of the worst only because they mislead you.NO HANDICAPPED ENTRANCE ACCESS OR PARKING. WHAT A JOKE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AVOID THIS PLACE AVOID THE GREASEMUSIC WAS PLAYING SO LOUD YOU COULDN'T HEAR THE CASHIER AND WHATEVER HE WAS...
