Bottom line: their quality and 'authenticity' is equivalent to Taco Bell, just at twice the price. I hate to say it, but this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a very long time. There was no flavor in the food - everything seemed the result of cost cutting and carelessness - uncooked canned beans, crushed tomatoes instead of salsa, flavorless rice. The latter was particularly amusing, with barely enough served to cover the plate (see photo). Beyond this, there was barely any cheese on any of the dishes, and none at all in the enchiladas - which contained just a few sad looking veggies. Nothing had flavor or texture of any kind - it was like eating lukewarm, multicolored cardboard. The one redeeming feature was well made Guacamole. If you've lived anywhere with proper Mexican food (or even Tex-Mex) before, you're better off cooking at home. Trust me.

My husband and I walked in and place looked very nice, and clean. Server took our order, sopes, enchiladas and flautas. Sopes were very small and taste was ok, I usually have them with black beans, but they used pinto beans which are not as tasty. Flautas were ok but the rice was hard and tasted funny. Same with the enchiladas, rice was hard, pinto beans were bland and the chicken of the enchiladas was very dry and chunky. Overall food didn't taste fresh, our server just got us our food and never came back to our table to see if we needed something else, we were the only two people in the restaurant. My husband had to go to the back of the restaurant to get our server so we could pay for our order.

This is place is not what is used to be. We ordered a wet carnita burrito and sopes. There burrito was supposed to be medium hot and the sopes mild. Good luck we ordered sauce for the sopes on the side, because they were both ultra spicy. I’m Mexican, I know my spices and those where just habanero sauce, if you have tried that chilli you know it CANNOT be medium or mild. The burrito was mostly rice, some beans and very little meat. Sopes are supposed to be soft and with refined beans, these where pieces of deep fried dough big enough to hold 3 beans in them. I remembered having a way better experience before, and the food was very authentic.

I have dined at this restaurant twice. My most recent visit was a couple weeks ago with a friend. I was craving Mexican and my friend was craving a Sangria so we chose this place. I honestly have little memory of my first visit years ago.

When we entered there was no one to greet us. We just sat ourselves. The ambiance is nice. There are booths along both sides of restaurant. We sat at a booth on one side and it was uncomfortably high so we moved to the other side where the booths were better. We waited a long time before our server came around. By the time she did, we already knew what we wanted so we ordered drinks and our meal. I ordered a beer, chicken chimichanga and asked for a water. My friend ordered a sangria, Chicken enchiladas and a water as well. We asked for them to be cooked ‘medium’. I asked how hot that would be and she said not very hot. I don’t mind spicy, just not burn your mouth hot as it’s not enjoyable.

The drinks came within a few minutes but the water never did. My dos equis was cold and refreshing but served in a bottle with no glass. That was fine. My friend’s sangria was massive and she enjoyed it but it did not have fresh fruit, as it’s normally served, which was a bit disappointing. The food finally arrived after a long wait. It was served hot and fresh and both were large servings. My chimichanga was good and had fresh ingredients but lacked real flavour and spice. Perhaps because I asked if it would be hot the chef may have lowered the spice level. My friends enchilada was better and bit spicier and tastier. We only finished half and I had the leftovers the next couple of nights and they seemed better then I remembered. But the enchiladas were definitely better.

The server never came around again asking how the meal was or if we needed refills. Once we finished our meal, we waited a very long time for our bill and our dishes to be cleared. It did not happen, so I had to walk to the front and ask the server directly for the bill. Others eventually did the same and there were people waiting for their pickup order as well.

I don’t mind waiting a little while for my food to be served if it takes some time to cook it fresh to order. It’s not fast food. That was not our major complaint. The issue, as others noted here, is the slow service or more precisely, inattentive service. It’s one thing to have to wait a few minutes for your food to be prepared and served. But it’s another to not be attended to during your meal, not receive water if you asked, actively have to seek out your server to get your bill and not have your dishes cleared.

Typically the service of a restaurant is not the focal point of my reviews. Unless it’s exceptional one way or the other. In this case it was exceptionally poor and my rating and review must reflect that to advise others.

The problem lies not only with the server herself, but the owners/managers. There was only one server for the entire restaurant and she was also working the cash, handling the phone and takeout orders as well. That’s too much for one person.

I understand there are labour shortages and I don’t want to disparage a restaurant in this environment where businesses are still recovering from lockdowns. . But the management needs to be informed of the service issues as noted by me and others, so they can make improvements.

Overall the meal was just ok, but large portions and reasonably priced and hence the three stars. I really like the ambience of this place, but the seating is not super comfortable. If you do choose to dine here, I would bring your patience and ask for medium to hot spice to possibly enhance the flavour. I’m not sure if I would return until I was confident the service issues...

This review will likely get my name withdrawn from the 'Win a Trip to Mexico' draw yet it will be honest. This was my first time at this restaurant and I ordered takeout upon walking in to the location on Leanne Blvd. Let's start with the positives...the decor looked inviting and the restaurants' location very close to my home with easy parking right out front so super convenient. I ordered a large steak burrito to go and the proportions were in line with the price. It came out quickly and was easy to order upon my arrival. The gentleman was friendly enough yet a bit difficult to understand his communication. I then dropped my receipt into the jar to win a trip and went on my way. Now the food review, less than positive...it was my Friday diet 'cheat' day and many of us know what that is like. I'd been looking forward to my favorite type of food all week and unfortunately was grossly disappointed. The steak was tough and bland with most all of the inside contents unimpressive in flavor and that's with jalapenos added as well! I had to add more sauce at home and even then it was nothing I'd ever want to eat again. I won't be back as my $ and stomach time are valuable to me. Oh, and by the way.....I grew up in Arizona and know mexican food extremely well. The outdoor stands in Mexico would shoo this place from the streets if they tried to sell this low quality of food there. So 2 stars only and I'll look elsewhere in Mississauga and surrounding areas for my next...

My family and I are in the Toronto area on vacation from Connecticut. I have to say this was probably the worst Mexican food we’ve ever had. When we pulled up the place looked a bit dodgy but I know great food can be found in hole in the wall places so we decided to try it. The chips were hard and the guacamole that came with it was decent but there was so little of it I was shocked (the cup was maybe 2.5” in diameter. The queso fondido was literally melted cheddar Jack on a skillet with some ground beef and pico dumped on top (not the queso you can get even in a place like Chipotle). Then we ordered a chicken and a steak fajitas. The seasoning was terrible, tasted like Chinese Five Spice Powder, definitely not a traditional Tex-mex seasoning. The chicken was gnarly and all dark meat. I ordered a side of sour cream, that was pure liquid and tasted like mold. Our waiter said they make it fresh daily but this was rancid. I should have complained about the entire meal but I was so disgusted that we just left after paying and I didn’t tip the waiter. He never checked on how we liked our meal and never apologized about the sour cream, just that the chef had tasted it and it was fine. Maybe this is standard for Canadian Tex-med, but if you’re from the States and hoping for something even some what close to a mediocre place like...
