I've ordered delivery a handful of times, and it's been pretty good, sometimes.
But I'm tired of gambling with every order, hoping that my food doesn't have a mistake or is good quality.
On the phone they don't repeat orders back to you, ever. Crappy service. Has resulted in a few mistakes. Including not being able to locate me in the system because they didn't put in the right phone number. I'm the one who had to request repeating my info.
Once my pad thai was dry and unappetizing Once requested mild fried rice, and it was spicy. Half my family wouldn't eat it Once had a big order, ordered duplicate items (ex. 2 pad see ew) with varying spice levels. They didn't label them. We had no clue which was which spice level.
Last night was the last straw. I usually love their curries.
8:30 Friday Ordered green coconut curry. The oil was separated, orange pools of liquid all over the sauce. I tried mixing it, to no avail. And the flavour was weaker than usual. Did they give me curry that should've been too old to sell, trying to save money? Did they mix water into it? Super disappointed. Side note, I don't recommend the mango stir fry. Swimming in a thick goopy sauce that isn't that great, with mango slices few and far in between.
I need to give up on this place, and find a...
Read moreMy family and I went here for dinner here a couple of nights ago. We were a big group (around 10), and it was pretty clear that the restaurant doesn't usually host that many people because it looked like a place that people go to for lunch on a work day or order out from. There were a few blips (i.e. a couple order confusions) just from their lack of experience with large groups, but the staff were very accommodating and welcoming.
The environment is very casual and clean. The manager is wonderful and very proud of his restaurant. I loved how he kept us laughing while we waited for the food.
We ordered a variety of food; from curry, to phad see iew, phad thai, to coconut soup. The mango shakes are made from store-bought mango juice, so don't expect the 'freshness' factor, but they are still tasty. We found their mango salad and spring rolls excellent, but the main course dishes were mediocre. My seafood coconut soup was rather salty, and the curries lacked flavour, but that may be due to us not taking chances with spice.
As a pointer, their "mild" (you can choose your level of spice/hotness) is no spice at all, so if you're looking for heat, pick something higher than that.
Overall, I might go there again just as a casual lunch outing, but not with large groups or for a...
Read moreLet me start by saying that the food is pretty authentic. There's no ketchup in their pad thai which is light years ahead of Glorified chinese food places that try to pass off ketchup as a thai ingredient. That said, here's what I like: pad thai has a hint of tartness likely from tamarind, and there's some spicyness curries have a nice blend of spices, hint of basil, and good heat (medium)
Here's what I don't like: they have messed up my order twice. Once when I ordered the coconut free curry, they made the coconut version - still delicious but not what I had ordered. Another time, they had asked me if peanuts were ok, I confirmed that I had wanted peanuts. When I got the order, no peanuts...these are minor things but does take away from the experience. They need to work at accurately capturing the order details from the customer, then ACCURATELY conveying that info to the cooks. the place is a little small. With a lunch crowd, you may have to take it to go.
Overall, still a great experience. Still a...
