This is Port Credit, the nicest place in the city. #portcredit #tomarsdoner There is a certain energy exist here that I have been heart pressed finding any where else. #heartpressed It feels like mix between a small maritime fishing village downtown city block and place retired folks visit by fancy gems and preserved. #maritimevillage #fancygems But it wasn't always like that. Port Credit was originally a settlement of the Mississauga Ojibwe First Nations band and a trading post established in 1720 for the exchange of goods from the Europeans for furs trapped by the Mississaugas. #Ojibwe In 1812, the harbor was established. That was the first economical growth. #harbor Corn syrup and honey 🍯 🏭 factories built. In 1974, Port Credit became part of Mississauga. #Mississauga Port Credit now considered heritage conservation district. #heritage #conservation You find a Walmart in 10 miles this place. It is the only place in the city gets busier after sun goes down. #sunset There is 100s miles of scenic walkways and trails 👣 of beautifully maintained by the local government. #trails #walkways Port Credit is home to many favorite restaurants within the city. #restaurants Such as; Works, Snug Harbor, and Now Tomars Doner. #tomars #Döner Döner kebabs are a type of Turkish dish similar to the Greek gyro or the Arab shawarma made with seasoned meat shaved from a vertical rotisserie. While many Port Credit restaurants favour upscale and unique twists, Tomars Doner keeps it simple. Tomars Doner offers traditional, freshly daily made Doner rotisserie that cook slowly, such as classics like Lamb, beef, turkey, chicken, as well as unique options like rice, salad, fries.
Tomars doner's the sliced meat of a doner kebab served on a plate with various accompaniments, stuffed into a pita or other type of bread as a sandwich, or wrapped in a thin flatbread such as lavash or yufka, known as a dürüm.
Tomars Doner only use fresh, locally produced vegetables that are delivered and prepared daily along with their special "Doner Kebab" bread. These make the "Doner Kebab" a truly unique taste experience for their customers. Everyone looks for something different when they consider moving to a new neighbourhood. Food lovers, for one, may prioritize neighbourhoods with known restaurants or hidden gems, depending on their particular appetite.
Now that lockdown restrictions are lifting in Mississauga, and many restaurants are resuming both indoor and outdoor services, the desire to be near good food is even more prevalent.
The good news is that Mississauga is full of neighbourhoods with exciting eats at all sides of the budget spectrum.
PORT CREDIT The area’s clash of historic homes with young and young-at-heart inhabitants creates a distinctly unique environment. Its quiet residential side streets lead to vibrant Lakeshore Rd East, full of shops, markets, and of...
Read moreFirst time ordering from here and I'm glad I did. I bought the chicken plate with brown rice, and fresh vegetables. The chicken was cooked to perfection- it was moist and had a great flavour to it. I added the tahini sauce and garlic sauce on top of the chicken. The vegetables were fresh and presented very well in the employee serving area. The brown rice and fresh vegetables paired great with the chicken. I also ordered 4 samosas on the side, and they were also really yummy. They were cooked fresh. The female who served me was friendly, polite, and patient as I didn't know what I wanted and how to order it. I get anxious when ordering let alone something I've never ordered before, but not once did she rush me, or give any attitude for the level of uncertainty I had. Their signage is what drew my attention to go inside their restaurant, and I'm glad I did.
I'm looking forward to the next visit to the credit river, so I can go back to this...

I recently visited TOMARS DONER, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The menu had a great variety of options, and the staff was super friendly and helpful in guiding me through my choices.
The shawarma itself was outstanding! The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, with just the right amount of crispy edges. The wrap was soft and fresh, and the toppings were plentiful – I especially loved the creamy garlic sauce and tangy pickles! You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients, and everything tasted so fresh.
The portion sizes were generous, and the food was served quickly, making it perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. I’ll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend this place to anyone craving an amazing shawarma – you won’t be...
