Came here for the first time 7 months ago or so. The first couple times I went it was amazing. I went last night again with my friend. We ordered the 'wrecking balls' as an app. First two bites of mine were great; friend thought they tasted 'different'. I get to my third one and all the rest tasted like they had totally gone bad; looked bad, smelled bad. We ordered another one after sending the first one back and they served us more 'wrecking balls' that were bad as well, even after suggesting a different app. Terrible!!! Friend ordered the burger topped with the tomato sauce, pepperoni, onion crisps... the bottom of her burger was completely burnt and ate around it. I ordered the Beverly Hills Lawsuit which comes with bacon, egg, sauteed spinach and I also paid almost $2 for added blue cheese. There was only 2-3 pieces of spinach on the burger because apperantly they 'ran out' and decided to not say anything until I had to check the burger myself. I also found only 2 crumbles of blue cheese... as an add on? Totally unsatisfactory, especially because I've done it the same way before. Waitress Rachel was doing an AMAZING job though; almost manning half the restaurant on her own so my friend and I felt bad for bothering her but almost every item of our orders had something wrong....maybe half way through I had finished my water and my friends had a fly in it I guess from the patio being open. Took way too long to replace our drinks. Staff kept asking if there was ANYTHING else they could do so i suggested bring more fries (they are bottomless afterall)- we finished our burgers and still never got those. Our food was discounted by the manager but I was given the impression that he was annoyed with US for complaining about practically everything after him coming back around the second time. We were given free onion ring tower coupons for next time. Still left feeling unsatisfied and to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of onion rings anyways. Disappointed!

Full disclaimer, I was gifted a "the Works" gift certificate, and I had been uncertain when I'd finally use it. I suppose it was lunch, but it definitely didn't feel premium or gourmet. The food was fine. There was also an appetizer we ordered that never came. But the reason this review is being written is because of the lackluster service in a mostly empty establishment. I did dine on the patio, but while I don't expect to be waited on persistently, we seemed to be treated like an afterthought. When we finished our burgers and waters and came to a natural conclusion of our time there, no one came to have us pay. I walked inside and saw it was mostly empty. I walked to the back to the kitchen area. I just silently stood there for a good minute. When our waitress finally acknowledged me, she asked if everything was OK. I wanted the bill. She said "OK I'll bring it out to you". I said "no it's OK I'll wait here". When the bill came. I called out that the appetizer should be taken off the bill since it never came. She was shocked that it was missed. My gift card didn't cover the whole bill. I still tipped. Im not a monster.. But only the minimum. I've heard "The Works" used to be great. But with so much competition in Port Credit, it's no wonder the place was dead. Update: As per the reply to corporate, this was the Port Credit location on Sunday July 6th.

Port Credit has a beautiful selection of delicious, gourmet places to eat with exceptional service and affordable pricing. The Works in Port Credit is not one of these places. Our group of 8 wanted to experience mouth watering gourmet burgers for a Friday lunch and were left extremely disappointed. The loud patio music made it challenging to have a conversation. The flat, watered down soda in novelty glass measuring cups spilled over to the floor as the server placed them on our table. Watching another smaller table of 3 guest who ordered after us get served before us seemed a little unfair. The $12 4oz lunch burgers were minuscule, sad and stunted. My the sunny-side up egg on the "Hamburger Mary" was hard and didn't burst open with velvety golden globs of goodness as I had hoped and expected. Despite the 50 minute wait from order to service our server came by once to replenish our drinks. It wasn't busy. I don't think It was unreasonable to expect lunch service within 1 hour. The website does a great job of selling the restaurant. I felt let down, especially with a group of people I was trying to impress with my lunch recommendation. Maybe if you kept your expectations low and ate alone, facing a wall, you might be impressed. Our group of 8 were not, and regrettably will not be coming back. Hope things get better. There's lots of potential here.

Hi, Firstly, I shouldn't even have given a 1 star rating to a restaurant with as bad service, staff and kitchen as this one. We entered Works around 8.20-8.25pm for dine-in - saw the sign 'Please Wait to be Seated', so just stood around and waited for a bit. There was one girl at a cash register, one taking an order and another one who was taking an order but then proceeded to fill some drinks. We stood there for more than 5-6 minutes with none of them bothering to come towards us (although all 3 had seen us) or welcome us or ask us what we wanted (dine in/take away). Finally, my friend walked towards the cash register himself and asked the girl if they had a table (we saw that nearly 4 tables were empty - one of them big enough to fit our party of 4 adults and 2 kids). The girl answered 'ok but you will have to wait 10-15 minutes' to which my friend asked why (since there was a table available) and she said because it will take us that much time to clean it. Though taken aback he just said ok and we all just continued to stand around with the 2 kids and wait. Another 10-15 mins passed by but none of the 3 girls went to clean the table in question. After 15 mins we asked the same girl again what the deal was. She replied 'Well it will take you an hour to an hour thirty minutes' Flabbergasted we asked why since the table was there. She replied 'Well the kitchen is working to capacity so it will take you at least that much time to get your food'. We could not believe what we heard. Never had we ever gotten a reply like that from a restaurant which WAS NOT even full to capacity (by that time another party had left so they had close to 5 tables empty). Disgusted I just said that we would leave right then. She didn't seem sorry or apologetic. Needless to say, this has been the worst experience ever for us of going to a restaurant. Never have I ever been to a restaurant where the staff completely chooses to ignore you and then later doesn't even bother to inform you what the situation is. We were just left standing there for all that time with two kids, in the middle of a (not-so-big) restaurant feeling like fools. Seems the kitchen staff is as incompetent as the dining room staff if they can't even cope with a restaurant running at 60-70% capacity. I am sure the owners are happily keeping the restaurant under-staffed and the prices as high as possible. Completely disgusted. Will NOT be returning to the WORKS and will make sure we discourage as many people as we can from...

After visiting the Oakville location and having a great dinner, I visited the Port Credit location on 3 different occasions. The first time, one meal was forgotten. The second, they ran out of chips and brought us spin dip without any. When the chips finally arrived, they were so greasy they were see through and inedible. We sent them back and the waitress told us "wouldn't charge us." I should hope not! The third time, the burgers were overcooked but we were hungry and not in the mood to make a fuss, so we simply ate them and left. After each of these experiences we kept thinking, "it will be better next time."

A few weeks ago we wanted burgers and decided to do takeout. The waitress repeated the order back to me on the phone, so I know she put it in correctly. There was to be two beech house sauces for my potatoes, and two of the normal aioli for my boyfriend's. There was one small container of the regular sauce, in total, for both our orders. I called and the manager told me I could come back to get more. A 30-minute roundtrip drive to get more sauce? No way.

Then we started to eat our burgers. Mine was overcooked and had no sauce. My boyfriend's was missing 2 of the 4 toppings it was supposed to have! At this point I was livid. I called the restaurant to let them know that I was coming back and I was NOT happy. The manager called me back to advise that he "will not have an angry, confrontation customer yelling at him in the restaurant." I had no intention of making a big scene, so I'm not sure why he thought it was necessary to tell me that.

Unfortunately, the manager at this location is simply incompetent, and it's no wonder orders are so often messed up. He told me the kitchen just had one staff member that evening and that this sometimes happens. He said that he personally helped out with my order, yet never took any responsibility for messed it up. I lost count of the number of times he said "I don't know what you want me to say."

Needless to say, we won't be trying...
