I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel this experience is worth sharing. While I usually donât focus much on whether the coffee itself is amazing or mediocre, this review isnât about the coffee or the ambianceâit's about the barista's customer service.
As someone who enjoys supporting small businesses and is naturally friendly, I was disappointed by how I was treated during my second visit to this coffee shop. While observing the preparation of my coffee, I noticed the portafilter was leaking water, which can compromise the quality of the espresso shot. As a home barista myself, I politely mentioned this to the barista, saying Iâd prefer not to take that particular shot.
At first, I thought he didnât hear me, so I repeated my comment. To my surprise, his response was abrupt and dismissive. Instead of acknowledging my concern professionally, he loudly responded, âYou donât have to repeat yourself; I heard you.â This left me taken aback. I calmly asked him not to speak to me in that manner and requested that he simply prepare another shot.
When he pulled the next shot, his sarcastic tone further escalated the situation, as he asked mockingly, âAre you taking this shot?â At this point, it became clear that this wasnât just a misunderstanding but a lack of respect toward a customer.
Ultimately, the barista offered a refund, which I accepted, and I left without further confrontation. While I genuinely wish the business success, I believe no amount of effort in crafting a good product can make up for poor customer service. Itâs unfortunate, as I had hoped for a better experience. Regrettably, I wonât be returning. I do hope the team reflects on this feedback and places more emphasis on treating customers with respect, as itâs fundamental to the success of...
Read moreI'm so disappointed with the weird experience i just had here. My partner drove to streetsville just to try this cafe. We had our dog with us, so I went in alone to ask if dogs are allowed in. Two people, a middle-aged woman with shoulder-length black hair, and a guy with short dark hair, were behind the counter actively doing something, so I waited at the counter a min. Neither acknowledged me in any way, which is fine and understandable, so I decided to look at the menu and just switch places with my partner outside. I walked out and let the door naturally close behind me without thinking. The door did close hard but not slammed, just closed loudly. The lady who was too busy to make eye contact with me a second ago had time to follow me outside, while I was telling my partner my order and explaining they were too busy to ask so I'll stay with the dog. She opened the door and asked very rudely, "Are you OK?" I was so confused and responded with yeah.... my partner then asked about dogs, and her response was a mumble "yeah fine" then she stopped and dramatically rubbed her hand on the doorframe as if it was damaged. I let the door close naturally, fix the door so it doesn't close like that on its own. Then she walked in without saying a word as we followed her she didn't acknowledge us inside and kept her back to us. I told my partner I was feeling very uncomfortable with the weird treatment and the fact she came outside to "yell" at me... it was just odd and very disrespectful.
To mention, I am an alternative looking person and have been treated poorly in the past based on my appearance, and I feel this may have been a factor for the way...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying this place since Streetsville hasnât had a coffee shop for a while. It looks pretty on the outside and the aesthetic is nice inside. However I was very disappointed and even though I am usually a person who only gives good reviews or no review at all, I thought some may want to read about my experience. The first thing on walking in is that you see very little seating. There are high top tables (tippy ones) with 2 stools each. Then there is a counter where maybe 3 people can sit without being up against one of the high tops. But itâs a counter with storage underneath so that your legs canât go under the counter. There are small tables in the alley outside that look good. I would have sat out there if it wasnât starting to rain. The only thing available to eat was a variety of 4 danishes and not the scones advertised. There is no jug of water as is the standard these days. The Americano I ordered was just ok- definitely not hot enough and filled to the brim with little room for cream. The glass mug was out on a white saucer that was the wrong size, making the cup tippy. We had to ask for cream, it wasnât out. And it took a very long time to get our order of two Americanos and two danishes. The maple pecan danish was ok but nothing special. The woman serving us was very pleasant and kind so that was a plus. The place is not wheelchair accessible. Sad that this didnât turn out to be a place I will want to...
