This is what I have described as the worst place on earth “I have never written a review unless is a positive experience” I write this so you know that kind of person I am. Worse management This happened at the end but I put it because the very sweet hostes asked me how was it and I told her that unfortunately I had a terrible experience and the manager passed by and said something in Portuguese stood behind me and just heard me complain and didn’t offer an I’m sorry or anything and by her body language she was extremely dismissive unlike their hosted who’s Brazilian and seemed to feel so bad for the state on how I was feeling she seemed to be the only good thing this restaurant had. Which everything im writing in this review was told to the hostes and overheard by the manager Racist: A black family was in line way before me and I was behind them yet a Portuguese family came after us and where taken before yet we all had a reservation at the same time. The Portuguese family got sat at the main restaurant and the black family and us got sat in this random room as shown in the picture yet the main restaurant was completely empty. Bad service The first thing we were told was you can either seat here or leave. At this point I should have but we had waited 3 hours already to get in. Overworked staff We then sat and 20 min went by and no one came to serve us water so I went to see the hostess which then I noticed they had 1 server for an entire buffet and the poor hostess was doing it all. Food was so cold I felt like I was a homeless person scraping the food of the “BUFFET” as there was nothing and the food was extremely cold and just over all was a bad experience. The state of the tables was filthy I payed $75 per person yet look at the table beside me at least put on a table cloth, and get rid of the broom and stuff behind the door in the room they put us 😭 horrendous Extra charges They charged me a 15% large party fee and we were clearly two people as you can see in the bill it says 6 people on my table Which this was insane considering the horrible treatment we received. I wished I was more of a Karen and refuse to pay but I didn’t want to cause a scene This place is extremely overpriced for such garbage they offer I would have given them the benefit of the doubt but the indifference from their manager was just the cherry on top

Over 3 weeks, we tried to make a reservation for 6 and when calling the restaurant no one answers, goes straight to voicemail and the mailbox is full. Finally got a hold of someone but when they answered the phone I thought I had the wrong number as they didn’t answer the phone as any other business does, they just said “hello”. When arriving to the restaurant on a Friday evening , no one really greets you, we had to go look for someone. There was live music which was overall great and entertaining. After being seated, no one came around to ask for drink orders, or invited us to help ourselves at the buffet. After 10 min we just went and helped ourselves and had to flag someone down to ask for water and other drinks. The first girl we got said she’s too busy. The seafood buffet was ok - lots of selection even lobster however the quality of the food was poor. The rice tasted old and several lobsters were green. When asking about the lobster the waitress said the chef told her it’s dependent on what the lobster ate that day. Never seen this before when travelling to the maritimes or dining at any other seafood restaurant. I ordered a vodka soda and they only had 1 vodka that I’ve never heard of before, and smelled/tasted like rubbing alcohol. Had to send back. No service in general - we had to ask for cracker for the crab legs and losbster as well as ask for butter, napkins. So hard to get anyone for questions, to serve besides 1 girl …everyone else that came to serve was not friendly at all. When asking for payment we asked to split the bill 3 ways as there was 3 couples and the one woman lost it on us saying we should have told her, it’s complicating things etc. Very rude. I wouldn’t go back.

Flames Castle offers an exceptional dining experience that brings the heart of Portuguese cuisine to life through its expansive and thoughtfully curated buffet. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the rich aromas of traditional dishes and the warmth of genuine hospitality. The buffet is a standout feature, presenting an impressive selection of Portuguese-style fare that caters to both the curious and the connoisseur. Freshly prepared shrimp, tender lobster, and succulent crab legs headline the seafood offerings—each cooked to perfection and seasoned with classic Iberian flavors. Accompanying these seafood delights are a variety of authentic sides and entrees, from grilled vegetables and savoury rice dishes to slow-cooked meats and traditional stews. Enhancing the dining experience is the onsite live musician, whose performance is nothing short of captivating. The soulful sounds of fado—Portugal’s cherished musical tradition—set a relaxed and intimate tone, while a diverse selection of contemporary and classic songs ensures there’s something for every musical taste. The patio at Flames Castle is another highlight, providing a beautiful setting for a summer evening meal. With its inviting ambiance, subtle lighting, and comfortable seating, it's the perfect space to enjoy good food, live music, and warm company under the stars. Flames Castle masterfully blends culinary excellence with cultural flair, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a flavorful, immersive experience. Whether you're a seafood lover, a fan of Portuguese traditions, or simply in search of a great night out, this place delivers on all fronts.

I normally don't write reviews but this one I have to. I went into this restaurant on jult 18th for a friend birthday who came to visit all the nice things in Canada. I made reservations for 8:30pm, I arrived 5 mins after 🤷‍♂️. From I enter the restaurant it's was slow, the male waiter greeted my party and proceeded to sit my party to the main walkway of the restaurant. Remember I said it was slow, so there was enough tables to be seated at. When I refused the table because of where it was located, the male server then replied ' oh its slow so no one will be walking around and I don't want to put a table together' 🤔. My husband injected and reply that a party was getting up to leave so we can wait on the table to sit at. So that was the first strike. Ok I still decided it's my friend from out of town birthday so I will stay. 2. Barbara was our server, and she is a sweet soul. We now started to order, upon asking Barbara about the menu this male server interrupt Barbara to answer in a very rude tone, which made Barbara chuckled to tried and lighten the mood. Again I said, I will stay because it's a friend birthday. 3. My husband then asked the male server for the assess code for the wifi, because Barbara was getting the drinks. The male server brings over a piece of paper with a code on it, that didn't match what was required for the wifi. My husband asked about it and the male server replied ' Oh I don't know the code and this code he gives to everyone and it works rudely and just walked off. Yes I know that he is not my server, but he works for the restaurant. Waiting for the rest of the party, Barbara comes out and stated that the kitchen closes at 9pm and we have to order. I made reservations at 8.30pm with and was not informed that the kitchen closes at 9pm. I was seated after 8.30pm and still was not informed that the kitchen closes at 9pm. That was the very last straw, I asked for the bill for the apps and drinks so I can leave. My party was profile from we enter the restaurant and I did not appreciate. It was so racial, I couldn't believed it. Never in my life I walked out of a restaurant feeling like i was on the bottom of someone's shoe. The food it AMAZING. BUT THE SERVICE IS NOT. I gave this restaurant a one for service due to barbara. NEVER AGAIN THE FLAMES CASTLE.

Signed A dissatisfied and felt discriminated...

It’s clear management doesn’t know how to run a restaurant. Customer satisfaction needs to be prioritized. You can’t promise an experience that you can’t actually deliver. We had reservations on a Saturday at 7:30 in December. In our opinion it was over-booked,and under staffed. 1.Not enough parking. 2.No front of the house, no hostess to greet/seat the customers. When we arrived there were people standing outside, and inside the foyer all waiting to be seated. Everyone complaing about wait times. Some customer were literally standing around seated customers and watched them eat their dinners. Clearly overbooked. Poor service. We eventually got the attention of a waiter to let him know we had reservations, he simply pointed to our table. We were seated at the worst table, it was in the back by the kitchen door, adjacent to the stage. But we didn’t complain, we were happy to finally get seated. We noticed that our table had been empty the entire time we waited to be seated because they didn’t have enough waiters to serve everyone. We waited for a server for about 10 min but we were ignored. No one took our drink order, so we finally helped ourselves to the buffet. It was obvious that some of the larger parties were being prioritized. When we finally got the attention of a young waitress to take our drink order she did not offer a drink menu. She failed to pour the wine for our approval, but it was very good. We asked for soft drinks and they were served in the can. 4.Food was mediocre. Hot dishes were cold, cold dishes were luke warm. Not a huge selection for the price. A lot of the shrimp cooked various ways. No dessert options on the buffet table. They did not replenish the buffet often. We left and went else where for coffee and dessert. 5.Entertainment, The singer was very good. I was really looking forward to the evening, but was very disappointed by our experience. Things like service, the quality of food, speed of service, are all a must for the customer experience. If you aren’t providing these services, or operating with efficiency, it could be a major sign of poor management. Overall experience, food, atmosphere and service felt more like banquet hall, not that of restaurant, considering we spent over $100pp for...
