From onset the waiting staff took forever to serve us , we came on the patio out front to found a table to sit at and only available table in far back corner of the patio was still dirty from previous patrons had not been cleaned up after the last customer still had dirty cup and empty beer bottles and plates from there food. We stood in the corner by the table waiting for a staff member to come by to clean up the table. After about 10mins standing there a staff member finally comes out of the front door of Franklin House pub . Before asking us how she could serve us or evening attempted to clean table we've waiting for awhile now , she kind of sarcastically said you would have wait to be seated by the entrance to the patio and made a comment about waiting by the on outside of the patio entrance explaining to fact that theres a sign stating you have wait to be seated before you enter. I said what sign as there was no sign placed out there at that time. She goes about finally cleaning up the table about 15mins later and after all never never even sanitize the table , I'm assuming that is some type covid protocol in the food service industry. We are finally seated and are waitress took forever come ask what we wanted to order. I we waiting another member of are to show up and it would be only a couple minutes before they showed up. After are friend showed up it took forever for waitress to come back and serve us. Eventually we all are got order. After getting halfway though the order of onion rings the rather miniscule amount of dipping sauce provide with used up only a couple rings itself. I ask the wait staff if I get another dipping sauce which not more a table spoon full if that and was I'd have pay extra if I wanted another dipping sauce. Oh it get better the friend who joined us had dirty cup that his daft beer was poured in and had foreign object on the inside of his cup that noticed while drinking his daft beer he only drank half the beer before noticing it. He never finished his beer after that. This probably one of the worst pub experiences I've had. Not sure if I'd ever go back there again. Not to mention it was not even that busy last night which really makes one wonder about the lack of good service. Maybe Friday evening is not time to go to Franklin House pub if you want good service. I've had friends who have gone there before and have had fair service . Which leaves the question was last night just terrible service that day or what...
Read moreThe bar area is filled with fruit flies. I asked one of the two girls i saw working if i could move to the patio area instead they said that was okay. After sitting at the patio for 25 minutes and being ignored i finally decided to walk up to one of the servers and politely asked them if they are understaffed or have any situation going on. The server was blatantly rude and asked me what i want. I asked her if she could send the server to my table to which she said she is the server and just give the order to her. I have never been to any establishment with such nuances working as staff. Both of the women working tonight 9th august at 8:13 pm seemed more interested in having a conversation with a caucasian male sitting at the bar then serving clientele. I hope this review reaches the owners and they do a little camera check on the situation tonight. Totally pathetic !!!!
Update- after being pointed out one of the girls came to me - the one with blonde hair and said how sorry she was for the experience i had and she wanted to offer me another drink i was hesitant but i accepted - only to later see that they charged me for that drink as well. Money isn’t an issue i left them a 25% tip regardless because i thought they genuinely cared about improving the experience. When i walked up to them again inquiring about the charge for the drink they said will be on the house - the girl said “oh that’s not what i meant”so she basically tricked me into thinking she genuinely gave a damn about the customers. At this point i am just exhausted by the experience mentally. I would never come to this place nor would i recommend anyone...
Read moreA nice reliable pub that's been around for as long as I can remember. I'll bet this place is more nostalgic for a lot of people than it is a "hot new joint" to check out. It's comforting, classic and typically vibe-y for a pub. From the servers that are well-experienced, to the old establishment to the decor. We always have a good experience when we visit and they have a decent selection of beers on tap (we tried a pitcher of Creemore Dark, which was so lovely) as well as a pretty extensive food menu, which is surprisingly good. We got the mussels in white wine sauce) which was so good, classic white wine sauce (so tasty you wanna drink it like soup), a good amount of mussels and 2 large pieces of garlic bread. And also got the pretzel with beer cheese - the pretzel was perfectly baked, warm and soft and right amount of salt and the cheese was hot and cheesey and while I prefer a bit more flavour to my sauce, I wouldn't complain about this one. Of all the pretzels I've gotten at pubs this would rank higher up. Overall, a reliable place to go to, but even though they have an upper balcony, I know they can still get pretty packed. So be aware of that. Still a good place to get some decently priced food...
