This is by far the worst "suya" I have had. I make better suya at home compared to an establishment advertised for suya.. Not one smoke or grill was involved in the preparation of anything here.. this was all fried meat with suya spice rubbed.. I came from Atl and ordered 1 of each from the menu to patronize suya spot. The fried rice was spoiled and rewarmed with curry but still smelled bad and we could not eat it. The assorted meat was terrible and all pieces were hard and dry.. the goat and beef suya were fried not smoked or grilled. Only thing that tasted ok the Jollof after spending $148. The Attendant was not pleasant and barely smiled. Asked about the sauce and spice if they were in the sealed bag when I got there, she said with an attitude "the order is in there the way you placed it on Uber eats" . At this point I just left and hoped for the best.. I repeat...I WILL NEVER BE BACK OR REFER ANYONE HERE. Terrible service and food.. I FELT...
Read moreMy worst dining experience in Toronto, hands down—and at a Suya spot, no less! The portions of spicy jollof rice were so meager, I had to wonder if I’d accidentally been served the cook’s leftover lunch.
As for the ambiance? Imagine eating in a makeshift dining room with the aesthetic of a storage closet. The furniture looked like it had been scavenged from a neighbor’s yard sale, mismatched and barely holding together. And the service? The cashier, who also seemed to be the official microwave manager, looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. I couldn’t tell if he was just exhausted, having a rough day, or if cold stares were part of the decor. Either way, it wasn’t the welcoming vibe I’d expected from a Nigerian Suya joint!
I won’t be returning, but if you’re curious, go at your own risk. Praying someone buys this place out and gives it the glow-up it desperately...
Read moreThe owner is a great guy but one of the ladies is simply not interested in being in that cafe to say the least! Always hiding in the back while people come inside and wait for 5-10 minutes on so many occasions only to have to leave empty handed Or you try to call to place a order& she will never pickup the phone, but once you arrive she will rudely answer your questions in regards to her not willing to offer service over the phone! The younger lady however is so polite and willing to help with food preparations. Lately the food hasn’t been close to FRESH!! ( Dried up burnt up flavorles) Also the sign above the store has been out of commission for years and was hard to say if they were actually in buisness. Perhaps it’s a good idea to get your act together as you now have more competition across the street plus Suya city around...
