This is not a review of The Keg. It is merely a review of Sajal, part-time manager on duty the evening of 7-July-2025. The food was divine, staff including the bartender and the hostesses- lovely. Sajal and his decision to make an example of a patron was a display of terrible manners and training. He chose to single out a solo female diner who had the audacity to note that he seated his (apparent) friends whilst she and others were told to wait up to 40 minutes for their bar seating. Keep in mind, nobody had reservations. First come first serve and all. The lady had been waiting some time when the new couple arrived (3rd or 4th in line at this point), when they were quoted a wait time. They were vexed. This couple then saw their friend Sajal and approached him, at which time, he ignored the list and immediately gave them a coveted spot in the bar. When the lady in question was finally seated, it was at the bar. Next to Sajal’s friends. And within 5 minutes of her seating, he arrived. He was loud enough for everyone at the bar to hear the story. Demanding she explain her comments made to the hostesses. Quite the production, better than community theatre. And honestly, he did it to intimidate her. He would not let it go until she suggested she merely wanted to read her book and enjoy her dining experience. She said it was fine- he was welcome to conduct business anyway he wanted but she need not think his actions and behaviour were correct. He started to contradict her. She reiterated what had happened with the hostesses- multiple disgruntled couples put on a wait list. And if he felt that seating in random (or friends-first) order was proper, she would agree to disagree. Had Sajal left her alone, she would not have shared her story with anyone. Alas, we all heard the tale. She then read her book, ate, drank and I hope had a lovely evening. And I beat her to the review. Solo lady? Keep rocking the boat. And...

Nice experience. We haven’t been to a keg in over twenty years since we lived in Vancouver. The atmosphere here is very warm and relaxed and the staff are welcoming and friendly. We asked for a booth, which was very comfortable, and the dining area was an enjoyable sound level with pleasant background music. Our server was attentive and our drinks and meals were served promptly. The meals we chose were ribeye, New York strip, blackened chicken and Mediterranean cauliflower. We all tried bites of each other’s meals (except for the person who didn’t eat steak). The steaks were yummy, but we both wished the Chicago char had more of a crust to it. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy but was a little salty for me while not for others. The cauliflower was pretty awful - no one wanted it - it was very bland and when it got to the table, it was barely lukewarm. (I understand a steakhouse isn’t a good place for vegetarians, but if you are going to have a couple entrees for them, they shouldn’t be throwaway meals that the kitchen gives no care to.) In addition, the twice baked potato was good, the French fries were crispy, the garlic mashed potatoes were not great, the vegetables were okay, the mushrooms were flavorful, the Caesar salad was great and the garlic cheese toast was good too. Bernaise was nice but the little picture was barely half full and it wasn’t enough for a big ribeye steak - that was kind of stingy. However, the desserts we tried were the lemon tart, crème brûlée and Billy Miner’s Pie, which we all shared and were all rated lick-the-plate excellent. Expensive at over $300 but a nice if rare treat. I would recommend going here for a...

**I forgot to mention how quick and caring the Keg staff management were in addressing thile below issue. They contacted me shortly after this incident and were extremely courteous in their response. I was very impressed with their response and in my opinion made up for the unfortunate and unlucky experience I described below. I have been a few more times since and have not had any issues whatsoever. Thank you for rectifying the below issues and for the quick response. Please read this segment.!! 🙏

Very disappointing experience! I brought my mother to meet my finance's family for a nice supper. My finance and my mother ordered the "blackened chicken". I ordered the steak. The steak was very well prepared and delicious. However, the chicken was served with an over-abundance of spice (whether it was cajun spice or what have you). Everyone at the table tried a bite and the flavor was too over-whelming and forced my finance and mother to peel the skin off to even eat the chicken. In essence, the chicken's spice ruined the meal for the both of them especially for 34$ for this plate. The bill was over 250$ , the two chicken dishes were close to $70 and its unacceptable for a restaurant not to refund both dishes especially when the food was not edible. The menu also does not reflect that the "blackened chicken" is spicy, and the waitress failed to outline the same. My mother was visiting from Quebec and has had very favorable experiences from other chains elsewhere. This was not what we were expecting, and not a good experience overall. Lastly, it took around 20 minutes to order my second beverage. This also is not acceptable in a restaurant of...

Ate here this week. We arrived around 4:15 so it was quite empty. The hostess tried to put us right next a family with small unruly children. We asked to be place in a different area of the room and were put there instead. We were the only two groups in this room. Service was good, and our waitress was very pleasant and told us about the specials. I ordered the Keg classic medium. When we got our food my prime rib looked grey. I questioned it to the waitress and she mentioned it had to be sautéed to make medium since the prime rib was rare at this hour. When I cut into it, it was just as grey instead. The waitress agreed to give me another one that was properly cooked. This new one arrived slightly less grey with a little more color and more appropriately cooked inside, but still more than medium. See the pic for yourself. At $54 dollars I was expecting something more appealing. This is my second time having to send back a steak at the Keg. If you’re going to charge over $50 for a plate of food, it must be cooked perfectly. This will be my last visit to any Keg as there are many other choices to go to for a good steak. To be fair, I should mention my wife ordered a salmon and it was perfectly cooked.

This is our second trip in 2 months. Mainly due to gift cards. The first was disappointing due to them running out of the advertised Brie and giving us a poor substitution. It was taken off the bill after we notified them of their miscommunication. SECOND try. My usual is Sirloin Oscar. The picture shows the tiny bit of asparagus. To me, there is no excuse. There are 2 grocery stores within 5 minutes. Go out and buy what's needed. Go above and beyond. Unfortunately, this effort would go unnoticed by the public, only the internal management would know. Poor management affects the hard workers and, therefore, the business. Here is another tip. The hostess needs to assess the couple quickly. We are an older couple. Determine how their evening would be enhanced. Yes, they followed the script/training and went by what the computer. Use the computer as a tool. Would it be best to put them near the fireplace or the outside wall (colder). They chose colder. There was room. I think they just follow what pops up on the screen. No thinking. This review is due to the expectations on value. They have one of the highest priced steak.
