Wow, how times have change for this place. The food here is good. I gotten give them that. With friendly staff. But it gotten very expensive here in the last year and half. I loved coming here after a game or after a show or watching the big UFC/boxing fight on there big screen tv. I loved their 10 after $10 special. Back in May of 2018 I came here to watch the Champions League final and order a fish and chips and at that time it was 17$ plus tax. And now soon after the start of the NHL 2019/20 ( early October ) season and there new partnership with St-Hubert, everything has gone up in price including the fish and chips which is now 24$. A 40% jump in price just for the fish and chips. I know that the cost of food has gone up in the last year but a 40% increase is just WOW. And during the summer of 2019 they removed there special 10 after $10. I really miss them, it was a great place to get a late night snack. I don’t know who in charge in 1909 price menu but they need to re-evaluate everything and make them a bit more affordable because normal people like myself can not afford the huge price spike that they have now.

Our company hosted an event at this taverne and I really enjoyed the ambiance. They had the biggest projector I've ever seen and they played the Blue Jay's game so that's a bonus. What was really memorable was their mac and cheese. It was the right about of cheesiness/creaminess and had crunch to it. (Sorry no picture of the mac and cheese because I was too busy eating it). They also had a DIY taco station, sliders, salmon cream cheese filling, chicken wings and mini poutine! All very good but go for the mac n cheese.

Stacey and I wanted to grab a quick bite after travelling to Montreal that afternoon. Tavern 1909 was recommended to us and did not disappoint. While the Prime Rib Burger and Pulled Pork were on point, the sides (cesar salad and fries) were not good. Value would've been 'there' if sides were a 5 out of 10... Staff was training a new hire and couldn't have been more fun :-) Quick service and good food, but you pay for it. Way to go Amanda/Andrea/Angela, you nailed it ;-)

On the 25th of April 2018, several universities collaborated to organize a social event for a conference taking place in Montréal. After careful considerations and months of planning, we decided to rent the lower level B3 in 1909 Taverne Moderne. Our contract included access to the location for max 600 people from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM, over 900 drink tickets valid throughout the night, a variety of food and snacks and access to the wall displays to advertise our work.

Everything started out fine when we, the organizers, arrived at 6:00 PM to setup our material and discuss the events of the evening. The wall displays were functional and the food was being setup.

However, the first conflict arose around 7:00 PM when we were told that the level above us had rented the big screen to watch the hockey playoffs. As our event was supposed to be a social event, the loud noise of the hockey match was not something we had anticipated. We did come to an arrangement where the volume was lowered and during breaks the music was put on again. I would suggest the venue to inform organizers of such conflicts beforehand.

Somewhere between 10:00 and 10:30 PM, the head of security, which turned out to be the owner, informed us that he found the room was full and that we were not allowed to let more people in. At that point, our Eventbrite system reported a total of less than 400 attendees, more than 200 less than initially agreed upon. This resulted in us having to deny registered people access to the venue. More conflict with the head of security arose when we did decide to allow entry to one of the professors partially paying for the event as he arrived a bit late. By the time we reached an agreement to allow more people access to the venue, most had gone already and those wanting to come were stopped at the front door by an additional security guard.

Around 10:45 PM, we were informed that the drink tickets would not be valid after 11:00 PM. We were not able to solve this issue with the head of security while he informed attendees of his decision through the microphone. Additionally, he started discussing that the event could not last until 1:00 AM as they usually close much earlier. To add to the confusion, the same person started arguing that attendees were not paying enough tip and that we, the organizers, should mitigate this.

After long discussions, one of our professors had to intervene. By looking over email conversations and the signed contract, the only consensus we were offered, was to allow drink tickets again for half an hour, of course without informing attendees through the microphone.

Luckily, most of the people in the venue did not notice the discussions and had a great time. While the waiters and waitresses did a great job and both the food and drinks were very good, we are saddened by the unnecessary conflicts that took place between the organizational team and the head of security. Nobody wants to get out their laptop to go through each and every email during an event at 11:00 PM after a hard day at a conference.

Usually, one might forsee these kinds of situations by explictly stating every detail in the contract. However, the agreements clearly described in the contract,...

Went with my son this evening pre game for dinner. First, hostess wanted to turn us away with a claim kids can't come in to most of the levels. I needed to ask to speak to Manager and he came down and fixed it right up without even talking to me ( showed girl how to move couple from one area to another location so that parents with children can also enjoy the restaurant. He was awesome, clearly smarter then this lady that wasn't getting the easy fix!

Place was beautiful, large, spacious, fun, everything you would want in a sport bar.

Service was also louzy just as the previous hostess situation. Took some 20 mins to take our drink order and another 20 to get the drinks. Waitress didn't even mention at first kids menu, even though we were told about it from people that showed us to our seats. So of course when I asked she took another 5 mins to go get the kids menu. My son asked for his burger to be without sauce. Of course, he got one full of mayo which I am certain was waitress fault and not kitchen, as she was convinced there will be no sauce in burger so probably didn't even made request along with our order.

I ordered a 2nd beer which never arrived. When waitress finally came to see us with the bill, I told her she never brought the 2nd beer which I have ordered during the meal. At that point my son was fed up and wanted to go catch warm up of the game so we just paid and left!

I am giving two starts cause place was awesome and right near Bell center but food was just ok at best and service was worse then terrible ( unless it was her first day at work in which case I apologize and somewhat understand!). Even my ten year old son realize things were not right over there!

Really over all experience was terrible...

I was told being a season ticket holder, that one of the three floors is reserved only for season ticket holders. Wow, I felt like I was appreciated. Well not as I thought. I made a reservation for 4 people over 3 weeks before the day of the game. The same day I called to switch the reservation to 2 people because the other couple couldn't get a baby sister to come earlier. First they sent me down to the bottom floor and then tell me that it was the middle floor. When, the hostess showed me my table, I was shocked! First it was right beside the service bar and right in front of the escalator. It was table with bar stools and the table felt like it was going to tip over. I asked her if there was another table that we could sit at and she said, "This table was specially reserved for you!" I was totally insulted that she actually said that. She then said that there are 2 seats at the bar if we wanted. It was even worse. There wasn't even room to find a small child. I was so disappointed because when I renewed my season tickets, they told us that it was a section ONLY for season ticket holders and that there were more items on the menu and more spacious. The season ticket holder section is the exact same as the other sections. My wife and I decided to go to Mr. Steers instead. But then decided to eat in the M2 section(new restaurants). Do yourself a favor and eat at McDonald's instead. The food was absolutely disgusting. I would love to see Geoff Molson eat that garbage. At the meet and greet, he made it sound like gourmet food. I think rats would spit it out. All that to say, that you should eat somewhere else before eating at the...
