I’m not one to usually give one star reviews but this is something that I can’t let slide. So I ordered an all dressed pizza and a pizza margherita, on the phone the lady said she had pizza margherita, the all dressed pizza was fine. When I got the pizzas I saw that it was just a plain cheese pizza with no basil, tomatoes on top. Now the delivery time was 1 hour and a half, we ordered at 11:15 and got the pizza at 12:45. When I called back to tell the lady about the pizza her exact words were this is their version of a margherita pizza, there’s tomato and basil in the sauce. For anyone who knows what a margherita pizza is will know that it’s not just a cheese pizza. The lady then asked one of my customers when he called and she asked if we are stupid when there’s 7 clients that all said that it’s not a margherita pizza. So not only was the woman rude, she didn’t offer any compensation for the late delivery let alone for her mistake of not explaining their version of it. The fact that it took an hour and a half, the pizza were cold, we are only 2 blocks away from them, they are rude and they mislead you. Don’t waste your money here if you know authentic pizzas. You’re not going to get authenticity.
Edit - in response to the owner this was over a phone call so recorded footage of phone calls, by law you have to let people know you’re recording. Secondly she told my client who called on another phone call. The fact that you’re not even fully understanding my review is concerning. Especially when I said that she mislead us when we ordered and she was rude. If you want to make an excuse for your workers then that’s perfectly fine but A LOT of people won’t be happy who know pizzas especially when your staff DOESNT EXPLAIN YOUR VERSION. The principle of the matter is as a business owner you should acknowledge your staff errors and correct it...
Read moreTHIS IS THE REVIEW YOU SHOULD READ!
A lot of people have been leaving 1 star reviews on this place and I wanted to step in and defend them a bit. I work downtown and order Angela's at least once a month. I'm reading a bunch of reviews about how terrible the pizza is, someone even goes as far as saying Domino's is better which is funny because I always order their pizza and I think it's incredible. It's extremely cheesy and loaded with toppings! If there are any complaints on the pizza those ones are clearly lies, its one of the best traditional pizzas. (going back to Thomas Crown's review, click his name and see how many 1 star reviews he leaves)
As for delivery service? They are always very polite with me and usually fast. My last order (today) came in less 30 minutes, delivery guy was polite and even went beyond his job and asked me a bit about my day.
The downside I guess is maybe the person who answers the phone is a little cold but thats as far as I'll go.
A lot of clients go to this place after 3am because its one of few remaining open places at the time. I think it's safe to say most people at this time are extremely inebriated and sloppy. It's very possible that many of these people are the actual problem with the restaurant, not the restaurant itself.
When I see all these complaints about the restaurant I feel saddened that so many people would lie just because they are hiding behind a keyboard or a smartphone just trying to be an internet bully because they were too scared to complain in person, (chances are they were too drunk to even place their order correctly and blamed it...
Read moreSo I've had a couple good experiences with Angela's, but just now a rampaging delivery man became unhinged at our doorstep, over an issue that was not our fault and completely out of our control. We had started an order to Angela's pizzeria, and then cancelled our order and told them we were no longer interested, after they informed us that it was a 1 to 1.5hour wait. This delivery man showed up around 50 minutes later with an order that we had not agreed to, and he became belligerent at the mere prospect of us having not confirmed our order. We offered to even still take the Angela's order, but he was obstinate in his anger. He berated my mother when she came to the door after hearing shouting, and by the change in his smile and pace I could tell that the situation was escalating. We tried collectively to calm him down, but he would not be restrained. He demanded payment personally to "not tell on us". I truly began to think that this was a halloween prank, because this man became nothing short of a monster. The man began calling me by a name that I did not recognize, and he seemed to stop responding to any attempts at capturing his attention. This particular incident has traumatized my entire family, perhaps from ordering delivery from any restaurant ever again. If actions are not taken to remove this dangerous element, then I execrate the ownership and management of this establishment that would allow this type of behaviour...
