After a large and what was beginning to feel like an aimless walk towards the unknown we stumbled across Bar Cicchetti. Welcomed in we sat down and immediately gazed at all the options for not just food but wine, cocktails and beers.
We started off slow, trying a few bits from the menu, the jamon, cornichon on baguette, the devilled eggs and the ricotta grapes on toast. It was all excellent. One of the highlights was the Polenta chips, perfectly crispy, and superbly fluffy on the inside. Covered in aioli they were not greasy at all and lent themselves to being ordered again, which we did.
My highlight of the show is the flagship snack, which adorns the merchandise they sell almost like a logo. The tiny ham sandwich, pierced together with an olive. The perfect little bite to go with a cold crisp beer or even a cocktail on a hot day. With the crusts cut off, it feels like something your parents may have made you on a school trip, but this seems to fit right in here.

The area inside is quite nice and quieter. Unfortunately, last time I sat inside there were too many mosquitos or fruit flies.
Drinks are overall good, there are very limited options to get wine by the glass though.
Food is OK-ish. I haven’t tried all of them but so far the only ones I’d consider reordering are the polenta fries and the arancini. I hated the meatballs.
Service is good overall. I’ve never been rushed to leave even when it’s crowded.
Parking in the area is really...
Read moreThe food and drinks were really good and I really appreciated that they provided water throughout our stay.
On other hand, the music on the inside was really loud and it was difficult to have a conversation. Luckily we were moved to the terrasse which had a really nice vibe.
The service was also extremely slow and poor. The waitress' took forever to serve us and only came over when we flagged them. They hardly interacted with us, except for taking our order. As we you were paying our bill and leaving tip for a less than mediocre service, our waitress was too busy giggling with the table next to us, which I found to be really rude and entitled.
A better customer focused service would of really enhanced...
