This is a very fun resto-taverne with an large, open inviting main bar and seating area along with a nice sized terrace upstairs on the roof. The decor is a nice mix of retro with old, small round bar table, wooden charges and a very, very long bar, in addition to some natural lighting and greenery of plants. A unique touch is that the small round tables all have umbrella holes in them for a pizza platform to be inserted in, atop which your pizza rests keeping space on the table for other goods and drinks.
The menu is eclectic bar food ranging from hot dogs, to salads to pizzas...with most of it ready to be shared with the table. We ordered the Crousti-Pogo (very good, great batter and crunch crust with spicy mustard), the Fattouche Salad (good but an odd combo including olives with dill), Shrimp Sept-Iles (very good, cold dish of mini shrimp that are scooped up on crispy pita chips), and the Parc Pizza (very good combination of artichokes, onions and olives). In addition there is a large wine list, a good and innovative cocktail selection, shooters and beers.
The only downside is the amount of ambient noise...music is played louder than it needs to and the open air room permits sounds to bounce all over the place ensure you are pretty much yelling to your fellow patrons on the opposite side of the table. Otherwise this is a fun place to hang out and spend some time with your...
Read moreWe went there for a birthday on Saturday night, and since the place looked really nice, I figured it was worth a try. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the atmosphere. We ordered a bit of everything to share — here’s the rundown with ratings:
Poutine — 4/10 Not nearly enough cheese for something that dares to call itself a poutine. The fries were swimming solo in gravy, and that’s just sad.
Fries — 7/10 Honestly, the fries were the highlight of my night. Perfectly crisp and nicely salted — the only thing I’d go back for.
Margherita Pizza — 1/10 Painfully acidic tomato sauce and no cheese. It was more like a sad tomato flatbread than a pizza.
Champi Pizza — 1/10 We ordered several of these, and not a single person liked it. Way too vinegary, and definitely not the comforting mushroom pizza we were expecting.
Pepperoni Pizza — 4/10 If you’re into really strong pepperoni flavor and don’t mind a cheese-free experience, this might be your thing. For me, it was overpowering and unbalanced.
Pretzel — 1/10 I wanted to love this one, especially with Oktoberfest vibes going on, but it was completely tasteless. We ordered two for the table, and the consensus was unanimous — a hard pass.
Toffee Pudding Dessert — 1/10 Painfully sweet and nothing like the rich, buttery dessert it’s supposed to be. A disappointing ending to an...
Read moreThe place is absolutely stunning.. it ressemble a café in Havana city. The music was nice The a/c just right , not too cold not too hot. We asked to change table and they complied. So far so good... the service was particularly slow (all the tables were full, granted) it took a long time for the waiter to come take our orders. Even longer to get our drinks (they were delicious)... and then about 30 mins before our food. We ordered authentic Italian pizza (with italian sausages) and fancy pogos. It was pretty good but we didn't get much meat on the pizza (grr!) We went to the terrace afterward... I preferred the dining room but the vibe is different outside... we witnessed an amazing couché de soleil. The waitress on the terrace was not too friendly and messed up our bills. She was upset when I pointed it out to her.. All and all the place is nice but because of the long wait and unfriendly waiters... I would maybe go again at a less busy...
