Normally I’d love to give local spot a positive review but I’ve been there several times and not had a single acceptable experience. The first time they forgot half of my order but charged for all of it. It was 2 quesadillas and some nachos. Think of the small tortillas folded in half but 1 costs ~$20. And it’s pretty mediocre. I would have been fine with that but they only gave me one and charged double.
The most recent time, the burrito was the grossest thing I’ve eaten in a while. Or attempted to eat—the meat was definitely old and I ended up throwing out the $30 burrito. Yes. That’s right I paid ~$40 for chips, a ketchup-packet-size of guac and a burrito. I’m happy to pay for a quality burrito but bad service and bad food with a high price tag is a no-go.
For a reference point, the burritos I’ve had from chipotle have been better. Heck the Taco Bell ones. I tried 3 times because I wanted it to be a fluke but the burritos here just don’t make the cut at all.
Edit:yes, it’s in pointe at Charles...
Read more50/50. The first time I was floored. The burrito was massive and exceptional, and it came with tortilla chips and salsa (not sure if this is the norm, but it was perfect.) A little long on delivery, but totally worth it.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be consistent. I ordered last night and was just so disappointed. It took 90 minutes to get to me, no tortilla chips as I'd hoped (had I known, I would've just ordered some -_-), and a shockingly disappointing burrito :/ I actually ended up throwing it out and ordering something else.
I think what left a bad taste in my mouth was I even called to check if all was well with my order after 1hr 15 mins. The guy was pretty casual and unapologetic about it. So to get that meal after was just... ugh.
I'd still recommend to anyone who hasn't tried and is already curious about it, but I personally have no interest in this...
Read moreThis used to be our go-to for takeout and for Mexican, like ordering weekly and raving about it to all our friends. Unfortunately since the pandemic not only have prices gone up, portions down (like everywhere) but quality has dramatically deteriorated. The last 4 times we've ordered, ingredients like tomato and guac weren't fresh, food was overseasoned, and/or elements of the order were missing (e.g. half scoop of meat and double the rice, or in the case of today's order, no rice and beans with the quesadilla).
Cafe Cantina, this is a plea to step up your game!!! Our guacamole was gray and salty, the tomatoes soft and clearly going bad, and rice and beans omitted from the order even though they are included on the menu. We want to continue to support a Mexican restaurant in PSC but this is the last...
