UPDATE July 14

Have been coming back because the food is good and the service has been constantly improving. Great local spot in PSC!

PREVIOUS POST (3*)

Food is great and I would have rated this place a 5-star were it not for its SLOW service. The service staff is very friendly, but severely inexperienced and confused: running around everywhere like a chicken without a head on.

On our last visit, we stood in the front for a few minutes without even an acknowledgement from the staff. We decided that we would take out instead. That ended up taking a good 30-minutes before getting our food.

Those seated were in the same boat. Once they ordered, the time between ordering and getting their food appeared to be an even longer wait than us for take-out.

I hope that management will be able to get the machine well oiled and running smoothly soon. The food is great and a welcomed addition to the neighbourhood!

I would definitely recommend this place, but perhaps consider calling ahead to order if you are getting take-out, or be...

I had an unexpectedly late night and was feeling rough in the morning. Vietnamese is usually delicious and healthy, so I popped in here on an impulse. Should have checked the reviews first.

The ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) was perhaps the worst I'd ever had. It tasted like it had been sitting in melting ice diluting all morning. It tasted neither like Vietnamese coffee nor condensed milk, just bad watery coffee.

Since I was admittedly out of sorts, I don't want to be too harsh on the food. I can say that the meat in the bun thit nuong (pork cha) was surprisingly herbaceous - I'm guessing lemongrass. However, the dish as a whole didn't do anything for me. I actually picked around the noodles and just went for the pork and veggies.

It's got a cute pastel-hipster aesthetic that will age quickly. It already feels a bit dirty in there.

The service model is unclear - the baristas come out to take your order but otherwise hangout behind the bar. They don't check on your meal, and you walk to...

My hubby and I decided to try the place as per some recommendations . We went on a Wednesday at 7pm , and the place was half full. There were a few reasons why I am giving this place only 2 starts Ran out of Bahn Mi's at 7pm on a Wednesday Served me an iced lemonade in a plastic disposable cup ( why ?) The waitress forgot one of my husbands appetizers Dishes did not come out at the same time Service was very slow Ran out of Tofu Spring rolls for take-out ( as we wanted to grab some for the next day) The waitress didn't pack my dish which I asked to take home ( she probably threw it out)

When we mentioned the fact that they seem to be missing alot of items the waitress said that it is hard for them to gauge the amount of food they make as they don't take reservations ? I didn't understand this argument...as people don't usually reserve and say which dish they will eat ( LOL).

Anyways , disappointing from start to finish . Will not be back. The...

UPDATE: I figured id give this another shot, and WOW. It's a great Bahn-mi now, the bread is fresh and unique, lots of cucumbers carrots and daikon and the sauce was on point. Also, the perfect amount of coriander. Don't miss the mint lemonade too, it's really good. Big props to the owners for following up on feedback and making the place great! Order to table was about 10 minutes. Previous review: I feel like the right elements are here for a good restaurant(stylish place and good music) but there is still room to improve. It took me over 25 minutes to receive my food, a simple porc bahn-mi for takeaway at lunchtime. The staff seemed a bit disorganized, but that's sorta forgivable since its a new restaurant. What was less forgivable was that the sandwich itself was basically 90% bread, with very little filling and two tiny sprigs of coriander. edit: Clarity

Honestly, with the high rating of this restaurant, I had bigger hopes. My soup was lukewarm, and the one from my friend wasn’t any better. The broth was tasteless, mainly a lack of flavour. The number of noodles in the soup was astonishing; 3/4 of the bol were noodles. The fresh spring rolls were cold and felt stale. The only acceptable item we ordered was the hot spring rolls, which were cold too… If this wasn’t enough, the chopsticks we initially received were dirty. And the employee did not seem very happy to be at work. If the items above were somewhat acceptable, we would have let them slide. Anyone could have a bad day. But the shocking part was the way the employee treated the delivery person. Treated them as inferior to them, which is unacceptable in front of clients.

It was the first time i went here. The food is very basic , probably warmed up in the microwave as my noodles were super hot on one side and cold on the other and tasted a little unfresh (freezer taste). It misses authentic taste and despite it being a small neighbourhood shop, a little dissapointing. The service was below basic as i think they were maybe understaffed and overwhelmed. Waitress noticed our food was half eaten and offered a discount, at the cash they gave only 5%. Prices were not bad but not cheap for what it was. Papaya salad was nice and refreshing, vermicelli grilled chicken wasnt bad. Perhaps its just this one time, but based on this i wouldn't come back.
