Café Les Bourrelets — Restaurant in Montreal

Randomly stumbled upon this local cafe. Very nice coffee, though I wish the coffee was a bit hotter. Suggestion to the barista to heat the bowl/cup first before serving (cold kitchen air might be a factor here?)

Absolutely loved their croissant with egg, in terms of value and taste, the way the chef prepared the scrambled eggs mixed with cheese and cooked to perfection, was the best!

The chicken burger was quite tasty, right amount of spiciness, pulled chicken with the sauce pair well with that type of veggie. Let's not forget about the potatoes, these were one of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had, the lightly crisped exterior mixed with just the right amount spices! However for the price, I'd rather have the croissant with egg though. Still, definitely give this a try. FOR THE POTATOES 🤟🏻

The Sandwich Dejeuner was a little disappointing, nothing stands out and the toast was a bit too hard. Some of the veggies also...

This café was way better last year, the food was quite good and the service although slow but decent.

Now, it’s all downhill 😕 Food & pastries are not the same, it’s all lacking consistency, it depends who’s in the kitchen that day.

Service & cleanliness are lacking a lot. Very slow baristas, quite rude as well (except for the male owner who takes time but it’s worthy). You never know what you will get in terms of coffee and pastries. They re-arranged a bit the layout a couple of months ago, I think there is no longer one table with access to an electric plug. Washroom on the back leaves a lot to be desired.

The little patio in front is actually the only improvement I’ve noticed this year.

Overall, it seems this business is taking customers for granted. Dolce Piu is across the street and Cafe VSL is a couple of blocks away, so don’t settle &...

I visited this café yesterday and had a mixed experience. I ordered an espresso and a cheese croissant. Unfortunately, the espresso was almost cold, which was disappointing. The croissant did not meet expectations either—it was made with shredded mixed cheese which is unusual for a cheese croissant. Additionally, it was heated improperly, causing excess oil to seep out and the edges to burn, leaving an unpleasant smell.

To make matters worse, I found a short, thin hair in the cheese, which was quite off-putting. The cleanliness of the café also needed improvement, as my table had not been properly cleaned after the previous customer.
